As noted before, this week’s episode of NXT will be airing on Tuesday, September 1st instead of its normal Wednesday timeslot on USA Network due to NHL Playoffs coverage.
NXT reportedly will also be airing on Tuesday, September 8th on USA Network due to a similar preemption for NHL Playoffs coverage on the network, according to the Wrestling Observer.
PWInsider’s Paul Johnson reported that a reairing of the September 1st and September 8th episodes are currently scheduled to take place on September 2nd and September 9th on the SyFy cable network. This will be NXT’s first airings on the network since the brand’s seasonal era of shows.
Dominik Mysterio Comments on His Debut Match at SummerSlam & Backstage Reaction
TalkSport held a recent interview with Dominik Mysterio and some of the topics discussed included his thoughts on his WWE debut match at last Sunday’s SummerSlam event and the reaction to his match backstage.
On the topic of his WWE debut match at SummerSlam, Mysterio stated:
“Putting the match together, I couldn’t have picked a better person to help me with that than Seth and my dad. We also had the help of our producer Jamie Noble, another man who is outstanding at what he does. So I’m nothing but thankful to those guys for how they helped me and guided me through this crazy debut match at SummerSlam. Overall, I was very happy with the match.”
On the topic of the backstage reaction to his match, Mysterio stated:
“But the reaction backstage was crazy. I got very emotional, hugged my mom, hugged my dad, hugged Jamie, Seth — the whole deal. Everyone was very happy and clapping for me, so it was a surreal moment. I definitely gave the bossman [Vince McMahon] a hug afterwards and thanked him for the opportunity. It was just a crazy experience. From seeing other people and other wrestlers finish their matches and walk through gorilla and hug Vince and stuff like that, having that be my turn to do it… I’m forever grateful.”
Austin Theory Status Update
This past Wednesday’s episode of NXT featured Austin Theory making his return to WWE television after a lengthy absence for a rumored suspension related issue.
