AEW’s Dynamite Television Tapings for May Update

As noted before, AEW will be resuming live shows and tapings for Dynamite on May 6th in Jacksonville, Florida.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the current plan by AEW officials is for the May 6th episode of Dynamite to air live while the May 13th episode will either be taped on May 6th or May 7th. The company reportedly will then take a short break and resume with live shows for the May 20th and May 27th episodes of Dynamite and their Double or Nothing 2020 event on May 23rd. Plans for future tapings will be decided afterwards.

Meltzer reported that the company will also be flying in more talent to have a larger pool available to work with for these upcoming television tapings and Double or Nothing. Talent who live in the Tampa, Orlando, and Atlanta areas likely will be able to go home in between tapings while those being flown in are expected to remain in Jacksonville at least from May 20-27.

Meltzer also reported that talent will have the same option as before of not having to travel or work for these upcoming tapings in Jacksonville if they do not feel comfortable. Those who chose this option and stay at home were told that they will suffer no repercussions or loss of status.

Jim Ross reportedly will be returning for commentary duties for the May 6th tapings and is expected to remain in Jacksonville for the whole time period.

In regards to other talent, Meltzer reported that most of the company’s international talent likely will not be available for this new set of tapings due to travel issues. For the May 6th episode of Dynamite, the Young Bucks reportedly will be involved but in remote role and are not scheduled to be traveling to Jacksonville as of this past Thursday.
