WWE: Heath Slater on Issues with His WWE Career, Kalisto Update, Australia Tour Postponed

Heath Slater Comments on Being Burned Out with His Career in WWE Before His Release

A recent episode of the Chasing Glory With Lilian Garcia podcast had Heath Slater as the guest. Some of the topics discussed included him being burned out on his WWE career prior to his release and his issues with the direction of his career in the company.

On the topic of being burned out prior to his WWE release, Slater stated:

“I was burned out. Burned the hell out. I knew it, my family knew, my co-workers knew it. 14 years; four years in developmental, ten years on the road to where you can be promised, you can be told, you can have it in your hand…and it changes on the drop of a dime. It’s one of those things, putting everyone over for ten years can take a toll on somebody. Your confidence, drive, and fire. I do everything you asked…I can’t get a bone? I went through those a lot. I wish I would have taken more control, walking in there saying, ‘Why is this happening? Why are we doing this? Why can’t we do it this way? I have 15 other great reasons why we could do it this way, why are we going that way?’ It takes a toll on you.”

On the topic of his issues with the direction of his career in the company, Slater stated:

“In my younger days, I did go in there and try to talk and push. I heard ‘no’ too many times to where I literally said, ‘I’m not going to pitch any more shit.’ When I do, it goes nowhere. And when I do pitch something good, they give it to someone else. I’m just sitting there like ‘HELLO! Come on now!’ You get tired of hearing ‘No, not for you, you can’t do that.’ You start believing it. Getting fired, I really believe I needed this. Out of the last four or five years, outside of me and Rhino winning the tag titles, I’ve been so burned out and not even really caring.”

As noted before, Kalisto has been out of action for WWE since suffering an injury at a house show event this past December in Los Angeles, California.

Kalisto recently provided an update on his YouTube channel stating that he was not among those quietly released by WWE and is still rehabbing from his shoulder injury.

WWE Postpones This Year’s Australian Tour

WWE reportedly has postponed this year’s tour of Australia, which had been originally scheduled to take place in early August, according to PWInsider.

Mike Johnson reported that WWE’s local promoter in the region, TEG Dainty, recently issued a statement mentioning that the company’s summer tour of Australia and New Zealand has been postponed to a later date to be announced in the future.

Official statement:

To the WWE Universe of Australia and New Zealand,

We thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we work with WWE to secure our new return dates.

The superstars of Monday Night RAW can’t wait to get back and put on one hell of a show for you in Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland.

In the meantime, let’s keep safe, look after each other and we’ll be back with new details very soon.

TEG Dainty.
