Scott Steiner made his first public appearance since collapsing at Impact’s TV tapings on March 6, showing up at a New Era Wrestling show in Jasper, AL on Saturday night.
Steiner, who reportedly underwent a heart procedure after the collapse, said that the doctor at the hospital told him that people who have the procedure he had normally only have an 8% chance of living.
Steiner was originally scheduled to wrestle at the show before he was hospitalized, but he came out to the ring to cut a promo instead:
Everybody heard what happened last week. A lot of people came to me and were praying for me and gave me their best wishes and I appreciate that.
But I’ll tell you what… It happened on Friday night and I actually do not remember walking to the ring, talking, walking back to the ring, collapsing. I don’t remember Friday night, I don’t remember Saturday night.
As I was laying in the hospital, freaking the nurses out cause I don’t remember nothing, I don’t know why I’m there. I’m asking why I’m there. As I was sitting on the hospital bed, the doctor came up to me and said, ‘The procedure that happened to you, normally you have only an 8% chance of winning, of getting out of the bed, of living.’ I said, ‘Doc, every time I step in the ring I have a 141 and 2/3 chance of winning. What do you think my chances are of jumping out of this bed?’
So this goes to all my freaks in Jasper, Alabama. Big Poppa Pump is your hookup! Holler if you hear me!
