AEW vs. NXT Week 22 Viewership Update
As noted before, the February 26th episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT resulted in Dynamite generating around 865,000 viewers on TNT and a #9 ranking in the 18-49 demographic while NXT generated around 717,000 viewers on USA Network and a #17 ranking in 18-49 demographic.
Dave Meltzer provided an update in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that featured the quarter-hour breakdowns and other details that were not available for last week’s Newsletter.
Meltzer reported that when only counting the two hours both shows went head-to-head against each other, Dynamite drew 865,000 viewers and NXT drew 709,000 viewers. Meltzer also reported that AEW’s Countdown to Revolution show drew 455,000 viewers and Miz & Mrs. drew 394,000 viewers for the head-to-head competition between the two shows. It was also reported that NXT’s over-run was not affected by AEW’s Countdown show and instead had one of its biggest ever gains.
AEW Dynamite started off with around 896,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley weigh-in and brawl segment which gained 110,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Jurassic Express vs. Santana, Ortiz, & Sammy Guevara tag team match which lost 169,000 viewers.
WWE NXT started off with around 732,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Velveteen Dream promo segment and Tommaso Ciampa vs. Austin Theory match which gained 57,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Killian Dain vs. Bronson Reed match which lost 51,000 viewers. NXT’s over-run gained an additional 227,000 viewers to end the night.

The March 4th episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT saw a sizable increase for Dynamite and a slight increase for NXT. AEW maintained their advantage over NXT in both overall viewership and key demographic rankings.
AEW Dynamite drew 906,000 viewers on TNT and a #5 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 718,000 viewers on USA Network and a #20 ranking in 18-49 demographic.
This week’s episodes were notable for being the post-Revolution pay-per-view show for Dynamite and the over 50 demographic group ending in a tie with a 0.34 rating for both shows.
The results of the quarter-hour segment breakdowns were not revealed in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter but Dave Meltzer reported that AEW’s biggest gain in viewership were in the teenager demographic group and their biggest decline was in the over 50 demographic group. It was reported that NXT’s biggest gain in viewership was also in the teenager demographic group and their biggest decline was in 35-49 demographic group.
Canadian Viewership for AEW’s Feb. 26 Show
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the February 26th episode of AEW Dynamite drew 100,600 viewers on TSN in Canada. It was reported that Dynamite was ranked third for sports programming for that night, trailing only two NHL games.
