WrestleMania
The fate of WrestleMania is currently up in the air due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the city of Tampa meeting today (Thursday) to discuss the possibility of postponing or canceling major events, including WrestleMania, which is scheduled to take place at the 65,000+ seat Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on April 5.
Tampa mayor Jane Castor was interviewed on a local Tampa radio station on Wednesday and said that they hope that WrestleMania can still take place, but are “still assessing the situation” and will be meeting at noon on Thursday to determine their plan (h/t PWInsider).
For what it’s worth, WrestleVotes said on Wednesday that the WrestleMania situation was “not looking good now.”
There were also reports that SmackDown may be moved from Detroit this Friday to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, but WWE said that they haven’t canceled the show yet and put out this statement to media:
WWE has not cancelled Friday Night SmackDown in Detroit, however, based on the current situation, we are putting contingency plans in place in the event that upcoming WWE shows are cancelled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues.
NBA Season on Hold
On Wednesday night, the NBA shockingly announced that the entire season was being suspended “until further notice” after Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus.
XFL Game with No Crowd
On Wednesday, Washington state governor Jay Inslee announced that events and gatherings of more than 250 people were banned in the Seattle area until further notice because of the virus outbreak.
The XFL announced that this Sunday’s game between Los Angeles in Seattle will take place without any fans at the venue in Seattle.

US Bans Travel from Europe
Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that the United States has “suspended all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days” as of Friday at midnight, excluding the United Kingdom.
Even if WrestleMania happens, this would prevent European fans (and wrestlers) from entering the US for WrestleMania weekend.
