Jeff Cobb AEW Status Update
As noted before, Jeff Cobb made his official debut for All Elite Wrestling during the February 12th episode of AEW Dynamite in Austin, Texas. Cobb reportedly was only scheduled for two appearances and has not signed an actual contract with AEW.
Dave Meltzer reported in last week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that while Cody has been interested in signing Cobb since the start of this year, AEW officials only gave an actual offer to Cobb this past week. Meltzer also reported that AEW owner Tony Kahn had also never met Cobb before for any talks until last week.
It was reported that Cobb agreed to work a few dates for the company and AEW’s offer included terms that would allow him to continue working for New Japan Pro Wrestling since that is his current priority.
NJPW News & Notes, Status of U.K. Event Plans for 2020
Dave Meltzer reported in last week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that NJPW officials have recently started talks with television networks regarding a potential new television deal in the United States. NJPW had been kicked off of AXS TV earlier in the year due to them being unwilling to accept Anthem’s demands of forming a partnership with Impact Wrestling in order to remain on AXS TV.
Meltzer also reported that NJPW officials are currently planning for their next United Kingdom event to take place at the Copper Box Arena in London, England at some point this year. Meltzer reported that NJPW likely will be working with Revolution Pro Wrestling again to help run and co-promote this new upcoming event.
NJPW reportedly generated a paid attendance of 1,6000 for the Massao “Tiger” Hattori Retirement event on February 19th in Tokyo and a paid attendance of 1,353 for the first night of their New Japan Road 2020 tour on February 20th in Tokyo, Japan, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
William Regal’s son, Bailey Matthews, reportedly has recently begun training for a NJPW career, according to WrestlingInc. Matthews is currently working under the ring name of Joe Bailey.
ROH News & Notes, 18th Anniversary of ROH Launch
Today is the 18th anniversary of Ring of Honor’s first ever live event, which was called The Era of Honor Beings and was held at the Murphy Recreation Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
ROH recently announced that they will be debuting a new weekly television series called Wildcard Wednesday soon. New episodes of this upcoming series will air every Wednesday on ROH’s HonorClub and official YouTube channel.
ROH also recently announced that Paul London and NJPW’s Katsuyori Shibata will be making an appearance at their Past vs. Present event on March 14th in Las Vegas, Nevada. In regards to Shibata, it was announced that he is only appearing for their fan meet & greet at the event.

DDT Pro Wrestling announced that Kenny Omega will be making an appearance for the company at their Wrestle Peter Pan 2020 event on June 7th in Saitama City, Japan.
The son of La Parka, Karis La Momia Jr., reportedly publicly stated earlier this month that he will be wrestling soon under the ring name of La Parka Jr. in honor of his late father, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter
Major League Wrestling recently announced that they will be holding an event called AAA vs. MLW for their television tapings on March 13th in Tijuana, Mexico.
