More on AEW vs. NXT Week 14 Viewership
The January 1st episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT saw AEW emerge with a very decisive win in terms of viewership and key demo ratings.
AEW Dynamite drew 967,000 viewers on TNT and a #13 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 548,000 viewers on USA Network and a #66 ranking in 18-49 demographic.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW Dynamite started off with around 1,074,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the ending of the Jon Moxley vs. Trent match and the Chris Jericho and Moxley promo segment which gained 67,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the ending of the Cody vs. Darby Allin match which lost 105,000 viewers.
NXT started off with around 772,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Women’s War Games match replay which gained 11,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Male and Female Wrestler of the Year awards segment which lost 146,000 viewers. NXT’s over-run gained an additional 141,000 to end the night.

This past Wednesday’s episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT saw NXT rebound in viewership from a series low and AEW winning both the overall viewership and key demo rankings.
AEW Dynamite drew 947,000 viewers on TNT and a #6 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 721,000 viewers on USA Network and a #55 ranking in 18-49 demographic.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW Dynamite started off with around 1,013,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the main event segment between Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley which gained 73,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the ending of the Kenny Omega & “Hangman” Adam Page vs. Private Party tag team match and post-match PAC promo.
NXT started off with around 818,000 viewers and their biggest gain of the night was the Undisputed Era vs. Gallus tag team match which gained 61,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Mia Kim vs. Kayden Carter match and #1 Contender’s for the North American Championship Fatal 4-Way match which lost 71,000 viewers each. NXT’s over-run gained an additional 195,000 to end the night.
Canadian Viewership for AEW Dynamite Jan. 1st & Jan. 8th Shows
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW Dynamite did not rank in the Top 10 for sports for their January 1st episode, meaning that it drew less than the tenth ranked sports program which drew 167,000 viewers. AEW Dynamite’s January 8th episode reportedly drew 89,300 viewers on TSN and took the #10 spot for sports for the night.
DVR Viewership Averages for AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT
AEW Dynamite reportedly is currently averaging around 1.2 million viewers per week and 654,000 viewers from the key 18-49 demographic group when including DVR Live +7 viewership, according to Variety.
NXT reportedly is averaging around 972,000 viewers with 428,000 from the key 18-49 demographic group when also including DVR Live +7 viewership.
Live +7 viewership is the overall total of live viewers and viewers who watch a show within seven days of its live airing.
