In-Ring: Seth Rollins, Raw Roster
Seth Rollins is in the ring with the Raw roster surrounding him. CM Punk chants pick up. Rollins says he tried to get him here, but he’s too interested in staying behind a desk talking about change than making it. An “NXT” chant picks up. Rollins says NXT mopped the floor with Raw, he admits it. Rollins hates that because he’s been a fan of Raw his entire life, just like the fans. Rollins names Steve Austin and The Rock. To see what the show has become is a shame. Rollins says this needs to be said: last night at Survivor Series, they all sucked. The Raw roster looks upset about that. A “So do you” chant picks up. Rollins says he’s trying to do the right thing by righting the ship. Rollins says they went from the A-show to the C-show. They need to plant the Raw flag and make it great again.
Rollins says he believes in Monday Night Raw. If anyone wants to speak up and say something, now would be the time. Rollins calls to Randy Orton and says he was the weak link at Survivor Series. Rollins says he’s just being real. Rollins invites Orton to respond. Orton walks off and waves Rollins off. Rollins tells Orton to go and not be a leader. Rollins will continue to stick his neck out. Orton goes to the back. Rollins says Charlotte Flair is a leader. She was supposed to lead the ladies of Raw into battle, but she wasn’t even the last one standing. Rollins mockingly says she calls herself a player. Flair turns her back on Rollins and walks off like Orton.
Rollins talks to the Authors of Pain. Rollins says they’ve been talking forever, but they could have used them last night. AOP wasn’t there last night, so we don’t need them tonight. AOP walks off. Rollins asks if anyone wants to step up. Rollins looks at Rey Mysterio. Rollins says Mysterio let everyone down last night. Rollins beat Brock Lesnar two times this year. Mysterio couldn’t even get the job done with a lead pipe and his stupid kid. Maybe he’s not the Rey Mysterio they grew up loving. Mysterio walks off.
The crowd is chanting, “A$$hole” at Rollins. The rest of the Raw roster walks off. Rollins says he’s trying to motivate them. These are the things they’re thinking. He’s the only one that has the guts to say it. All of a sudden, Kevin Owens pops up on the apron behind Rollins. A loud “Kevin Owens” chant picks up. Rollins says Owens’ new name is “Mr. NXT”. Rollins tells him to get in the ring and say what he has to say. Rollins calls Owens a lazy piece of crap that can never be him. Rollins says he’s coming from a good place. This is the right thing to do. Owens then gives Rollins a Stunner and walks off!
After commercials, Seth Rollins is backstage angrily pacing. Charly Caruso comes up and says he had good intentions but didn’t accomplish what he hoped. Rollins says he was just doing the right thing, but instead Kevin Owens stuns him. Rollins then challenges Owens to a match.
Titus O’Neil vs. Bobby Lashley
Footage is shown from earlier tonight of Rusev being turned away from the arena with a restraining order.
The bell sounds, and Lashley kisses Lana. They lock up, and Lashley powers him to the corner. O’Neil gets out and chops the chest. Lashley quickly kicks him and hits the ropes, but O’Neil chops him. Lashley angrily hits a one-armed slam. Rusev then runs through the crowd and attacks O’Neil.
Winner by Disqualification: Bobby Lashley
Rusev punches Lashley out of the ring and punches away at him. Lana screams for Rusev to stop. Rusev sends Lashley into the ring steps before driving him into the barricade. Lashley makes a comeback, but Rusev cuts him off and punches him down on the ramp. Rusev sends him into the LED wall and clears the commentary table. Rusev lays Lashley on the table and shouts at Lana. Chicago Police all of a sudden run up and restrain Rusev before putting him in handcuffs. Lana tends to Lashley as the cops pull Rusev away. Rusev breaks free and shoulder blocks Lashley off the stage through some tables! Rusev then kicks a steel structure over on Lashley. The cops then take Rusev to the back.
After commercials, footage is shown of Bobby Lashley being taken out of the arena on a stretcher.
AOP vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins
Akam starts against Curt Hawkins. Akam takes Hawkins down and clubs away at him. Rezar tags in and hits the ropes for a Last Chapter. Rezar grabs Ryder and knees away at him before clubbing the back. AOP picks Hawkins and Ryder up before hitting stereo Death Valley Drivers into the corner. They connect with the Super Collider. Rezar tags in and they hit a double-team powerbomb/neckbreaker combo for the win.

Akira Tozawa vs. Andrade
The bell rings, and Andrade quickly hits a powerbomb. Andrade clubs Tozawa around the ring before stomping the midsection. Andrade gives him a suplex and goes for a second one, but Tozawa rolls him up. Tozawa hits a hurricanrana and soon hits a German Suplex. Tozawa goes to the top rope, but Andrade sweeps the feet. Andrade stomps him down and hits running double knees in the corner. Andrade hits a Hammerlock DDT for the win.

Backstage: Aleister Black
Aleister Black is shown backstage. Black talks about Buddy Murphy knocking on his door. Tonight, Black will collect what he’s owed. Murphy is going to pick a fight with him.
Matt Hardy vs. Buddy Murphy
Matt Hardy makes his entrance after a long time off television. Murphy quickly stomps Hardy down. Hardy fights back and bounces him off the turnbuckle. Hardy punches Murphy in the corner and hits the 10 punches. Murphy quickly turns Hardy’s head and superkicks him. Murphy then dumps him out of the ring. Murphy beats him around ringside and gets him in the ring. Hardy comes back with a Side Effect. Hardy punches him back and hits a pair of corner clotheslines. Hardy elbows and boots Murphy back and comes off the middle rope with an elbow to the neck. Hardy goes for a Twist of Fate, but Murphy rocks him with a knee to the face. Murphy hits another knee to the face and drags him to the center of the ring. Murphy then knocks Hardy out with a third knee to the face for the win.

Buddy Murphy is bleeding from the nose. Murphy grabs a microphone and calls out Aleister Black. Murphy says he’s here to pick a fight with him. Aleister Black makes his entrance and angrily rushes down to the ring. Murphy goes to attack him, but Black elbows him in the face. Black kicks him into the ropes and knees him in the face. Murphy falls out of the ring. Murphy stumbles away in retreat. Murphy angrily charges the ring, but he thinks better of it.
Backstage: Charlotte Flair
Charly Caruso is backstage with Charlotte Flair. Flair says that Asuka is angry that she beat her for the SmackDown Women’s Championship earlier this year and broke the undefeated streak at WrestleMania 34. She’ll show Asuka why she’s the 10-time Women’s Champion. WOO!
In-Ring: Humberto Carrillo, The OC, Ricochet, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, Rey Mysterio
While Humberto Carrillo is making his entrance, Gallows and Anderson attack him from behind. Carrillo makes a comeback, but Gallows and Anderson hit the Magic Killer on the ring steps.
Ricochet runs down to check on Carrillo. Styles says Carrillo isn’t medically cleared to compete. Ricochet says this is not what a champion is made of. Ricochet challenges Styles to a title match. Styles declines.
Randy Orton’s music hits, and he says he can compete. The people of Chicago would love nothing more than to see him RKO Styles through the canvas. Orton challenges Styles to a title match. Styles says maybe Orton forgot, but the last time they fought was in a bigger and better city with bright lights — WrestleMania — and he beat Orton. Styles has nothing to prove to two guys he’s already beaten. It’s not going to happen.
Drew McIntyre’s music hits, and he comes out to the stage. McIntyre has a solution. McIntyre knows a guy who hasn’t had a singles title match, has never been beaten by Styles, has a sexy accent, and pinned the NXT UK Champion WALTER. Chicago doesn’t deserve this match, but for the first-time ever we can have McIntyre versus Styles for the United States Championship. Styles says after stealing the show at Survivor Series, he’s a little sore.
Rey Mysterio comes out now. Mysterio says he stepped in the ring with Brock Lesnar, so don’t talk about being sore. Mysterio isn’t complaining while Styles is making excuses. Mysterio won’t let Styles cheat the people of Chicago out of a title match. Mysterio challenges Styles to a title match. Styles says they haven’t earned anything, so he declines on principle. Ricochet says he hasn’t been around that long, but he has an idea. They can have a Fatal 4-Way and the winner will face Styles for the US Title. Styles says that may be the dumbest thing Ricochet has ever said. Gallows says it sounds kind of compelling. Anderson thinks it’s cool. Styles is flabbergasted. Styles then agrees.
Ricochet vs. Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Rey Mysterio
Ricochet throws McIntyre out of the ring and uses Mysterio to hit Orton. Mysterio hits McIntyre with a hurricanrana out of the ring while Ricochet hits a plancha on Orton. Ricochet and Mysterio are in the ring, but Orton comes in. Mysterio and Ricochet double dropkick Orton out of the ring. Ricochet hits McIntyre with a baseball slide and shoulders Mysterio. Ricochet comes off the apron for a cross-body on McIntyre, but McIntyre counters into a scoop slam on the floor. Orton then slides Mysterio out of the ring, which causes Mysterio to land on Ricochet.
McIntyre gets Ricochet in the ring, and Orton chops him. Orton and McIntyre take turns attacking Ricochet. Orton and McIntyre attack Ricochet in the corner before Mysterio cuts them off. McIntyre simply throws Mysterio out of the ring. McIntyre sends Ricochet to the corner. Ricochet boots Orton back and attacks McIntyre. Ricochet hits a dropkick on McIntyre before shouldering him in the midsection. McIntyre ducks a springboard, and Orton hits Ricochet with a snap powerslam. Mysterio hits Orton and McIntyre with seated sentons. Ricochet punches Mysterio, but Mysterio punches back. They get on the ropes before Mysterio falls to the apron. McIntyre attacks Mysterio and tries for a superplex on Ricochet. Mysterio attacks McIntyre. McIntyre is in the tree of woe. Mysterio attacks Ricochet and goes for a superplex to the floor. Orton stops them and knocks Ricochet to the floor. Orton goes for a superplex on Mysterio, but McIntyre sits up from the tree of woe and hits a German Suplex on Orton, who suplexes Mysterio.
WWE United States Champion AJ Styles comes out to the stage with Gallows and Anderson.
We come back from the break to see McIntyre attacking Ricochet. McIntyre slaps Ricochet in the face, so Ricochet fights back and hits a kick to the face. Ricochet hits Orton with an enzuigiri. Ricochet charges Orton, but Orton counters with a draping DDT. McIntyre breaks up the pin. McIntyre and Orton come to blows and trade chops. Orton simply pokes him in the eyes and uppercuts away at him. McIntyre comes back with a Glasgow Kiss that floors Orton. Ricochet hits McIntyre with a springboard clothesline followed by a standing shooting star press. Ricochet baseball slides Mysterio off the apron. Ricochet goes for a poisonrana on McIntyre, but he stops it. Ricochet counters an inverted Alabama Slam into a roll-up for a near fall. McIntyre then viciously powerbombs Ricochet for a near fall. McIntyre is stunned.
McIntyre sets up for a Claymore Kick, but Orton cuts him off with an RKO. Orton covers, but Gallows and Anderson pull him out of the ring before driving him into the barricade. Mysterio sizes Ricochet up and goes for a springboard hurricanrana. Ricochet counters. Mysterio gets out and goes for a springboard moonsault, but Ricochet catches him. Mysterio then counters into a roll-up on Ricochet for the win!
Winner by Pinfall: Rey Mysterio
AJ Styles looks really pleased. He’ll face Rey Mysterio with the title on the line, next.
WWE United States Championship
AJ Styles (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
Styles immediately attacks Mysterio at the sound of the bell and stomps him. Styles bounces Mysterio off the turnbuckles before putting him in the corner. Styles smiles and saunters around the ring. Styles connects with a suplex, and Mysterio rolls out of the ring. Styles goes outside and attacks Mysterio. Styles chops the chest and bounces him off the apron. Styles gets him in the ring, and Mysterio attacks. Mysterio goes to the top rope, but Styles sweeps the feet. Styles covers, but Mysterio grabs the bottom rope. Styles applies a chin lock and grounds him. Mysterio fights up, so Styles chokes him on the middle rope. Styles then hits a guillotine catapult. The O.C. looks pleased at ringside. Mysterio blocks a suplex and knees away at Styles. Styles reverses a whip, but he lowers his head and eats a kick. Mysterio goes for a springboard, but his knee gives out. Mysterio fights back and goes for a springboard moonsault, but Styles catches him. Mysterio slides off and sends him shoulder-first into the ring post.
Both men get to their feet, and Mysterio connects with an enzuigiri. Mysterio goes for a 619, but Anderson sweeps the feet. The referee ejects Gallows and Anderson from ringside to a huge pop.
We come back from the break to see Styles viciously whip Mysterio into the corner sternum-first. Mysterio eventually sidesteps a baseball slide to send Styles into the ring post crotch-first. Mysterio hits a seated senton before connecting with a head-scissor takeover. Mysterio punches away Styles before booting him in the face. Mysterio catches him with a wheelbarrow bulldog for a near fall. The crowd is chanting, “619.” Styles cuts Mysterio off going to the top rope and goes for a superplex. Mysterio fights Styles off, but Styles quickly comes back by pulling Mysterio off the top rope and hitting a ushigoroshi. Styles covers, but Mysterio kicks out. Mysterio quickly comes back with a sunset flip powerbomb, but Styles barely kicks out!
Mysterio hits a springboard moonsault that puts Styles into position. Mysterio hits a 619, but the momentum sends Styles into the referee to take him out. Anderson and Gallows run down and double-team Mysterio while the referee is down. Gallows and Anderson go for the Magic Killer, but Randy Orton runs down and takes them out. Styles misses a Phenomenal Forearm on Orton. Mysterio hits a hurricanrana into the ropes and connects with a 619! Orton RKOs Styles, and Mysterio hits a top rope splash for the win!
Winner and new WWE United States Champion: Rey Mysterio
Dominick runs down and celebrates with his father, hoisting him up on his shoulders. Mysterio holds up his WWE United States Championship.
Backstage: Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens takes the microphone from Charly Caruso. Owens says he’s always known who he is and doesn’t care. Seth Rollins is trying to be what he thinks the company needs him to be rather than being himself and it’s turning him into a miserable prick. Owens will take him down.
Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka
Asuka mocks Flair, so Flair forearms her down. Asuka rolls out of the ring. Flair follows and sends Asuka into the barricade. Flair scares Kairi Sane off and gets Asuka in the ring. Flair big boots Sane off the apron, and Asuka attacks Flair. Flair comes back and throws her across the ring. Flair stomps Asuka down before Asuka fights back. Asuka tries to take her down, but Flair stays on her feet. Flair goes for the Figure Four, but Asuka gets away. Flair elbows her back and kicks at Sane outside the ring. Asuka then attacks Flair from behind. Asuka attacks the arm of Flair and stretches it. Flair eventually fights up, but Flair big boots her down for a near fall. Asuka rolls out of the ring to recover. Flair then goes outside and chases Sane through the crowd.
We come back from the break to see Flair and Asuka going back and forth. Flair takes Asuka down and applies a Boston crab. Asuka gets out, but Flair eventually catches her with a spear. Kairi Sane runs back through the crowd and distracts Flair. Asuka spits green mist in Flair’s face and picks up the pin.

Erick Rowan vs. Kyle Roberts
Erick Rowan is back with the covered cage. Roberts goes outside near the cage and tries to look under the cloth, so Rowan unloads on him, slamming him on the apron. Rowan hits an Iron Claw Slam before picking him up and hitting another for the win.

Sarah Schreiber catches up with AJ Styles backstage, who looks devastated with The O.C. Styles can’t think of any words to say before stuttering out, “Randy Orton…” The O.C. walks off.
Backstage: Lana
Footage is shown of Rusev attacking Bobby Lashley before being arrested.
Charly Caruso interviews Lana backstage. Lana says Rusev is a threat to all society. Rusev is obsessed with her. What Rusev did tonight is proof that WWE should fire him and send that animal straight back to Bulgaria. As for everyone asking about her Bobby’s condition. She assures everyone that she’s handling it. Despite this very traumatic experience, she’s going to be ok. Lana walks off.
Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens
They brawl right away and Owens goes for a Stunner. Rollins gets out of it and leaves the ring. Rollins attacks Owens, but he eats a boot. Owens hits a missile dropkick followed by a senton splash for a two count. Owens charges, but Rollins catches him with a reverse STO in the corner. Rollins sweeps the feet, and “CM Punk” chants pick up lightly. Rollins then applies a single leg crab, but Owens kicks him away. Owens ducks a clothesline and lifts him up, but Rollins slides off. Rollins boots him back and hits a Sling Blade. Rollins gets him out of the ring and hits a pair of suicide dives. Rollins gets him in the ring, but Owens superkicks him. Rollins gets furious and goes to the timekeeper’s area to grab a chair. Rollins paces at ringside thinking about what to do.
We come back from the break to see Owens fight Rollins off the middle rope. Owens goes for a Swanton Bomb, but Rollins gets the knees up for a two count. A “CM Punk” chant picks up while Rollins applies a chin lock. Rollins punches Owens down, but Owens responds with a chop. Rollins chops the chest and sends him to the ropes, but Owens counters with a DDT. Owens sends Rollins to the corner and hits a cannonball. Rollins gets out of the ring to recover, so Owens hits him with a Swanton Bomb on the floor! Owens gets him in the ring and hits a frog splash for a near fall.
Owens sends Rollins to the ropes for a Pop-up Powerbomb, but Rollins gets out and goes for a Pedigree. Owens gets out, and Rollins boots him back. Rollins then hits a blockbuster for a near fall. Rollins immediately transitions into a falcon arrow for another near fall. Owens avoids a Stomp, and Rollins gets out of a Stunner. Rollins goes for a Stomp, but Owens counters into a Pop-up Powerbomb for a near fall. Rollins gets out of a Stunner and superkicks him a few times. Rollins goes for a Stomp, but Owens instead catches him with a Stunner. Owens is too shaken up to follow up.
All of a sudden, AOP comes down to the ring. AOP stares at Owens and Rollins. Owens attacks Akam, so AOP double-teams him.
Winner by Disqualification: Kevin Owens
AOP continues to double-team Owens before sends him shoulder-first into the ring post a few times. Rezar then kicks Owens’ head into the ring post. AOP hits Owens with a double-team GTS and stand over him. Rollins is still down in the corner. They remove their jackets and look down at him. Rollins challenges them to a fight, but AOP turns around and walks away.
Rollins watches them leave before looking at Owens and giving him a Stomp. Rollins talks trash to Owens as the crowd boos him. Rollins hits the ropes and hits a second Stomp.
