Britt Baker
AEW wrestler Britt Baker was shown in the crowd during TakeOver tonight after the main event, looking concerned after her boyfriend Adam Cole was driven through a table from the top of the WarGames cage.
After she was shown for a couple of seconds, Mauro Ranallo acknowledged her on commentary, saying, “Adam Cole’s girlfriend Britt Baker looking on with concern, as all are looking on.”
Triple H said in a post-show media call that they didn’t mean to put her on camera and the director didn’t know who she was, and Triple H felt bad about possibly causing a problem for her:
I swear, the director who took the shot didn’t know who it was. Just went to the woman in the crowd that had the most concerned crazy look on her face. I don’t have any problem with it in any way, shape or form. And then to not address it, it’s the elephant in the room and you’re making it like ‘that was weird,’ so you gotta address it. I would never want to put a talent in that position. I get why she’s here, I get who she’s here with and I would never want to put her in a position where I took a shot of her that gets her heat or gets her to have a problem with her employers and people and what she’s doing. And it very easily could be a problem. I feel bad because I don’t ever want to put somebody like that in a position where that could be problematic for anyone. It just doesn’t need to happen. And it’s the second time it happened. One other time she was sitting right next to Steph when we took a shot of her. I’m happy for her, she’s got a good thing going on, she’s killing it, she’s doing a great job and that’s awesome.
Injuries and NXT Teams
Triple H said in the post-show media call that everyone was relatively healthy after the show and there were no major injuries.
He said that the reason why the NXT teams at Survivor Series had not been announced yet was because they wanted to see who was healthy after TakeOver.
The women’s team, which was announced after tonight’s show, will be Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, Candice LeRae and Toni Storm. The men’s team will be announced during the Survivor Series pre-show.
Next TakeOver
The next NXT TakeOver will take place on Sunday, February 16 in Portland, Oregon.
It’ll be the first ever TakeOver on a Sunday.
