As noted before, this week’s episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT saw a large increase for Dynamite and a sizable drop for NXT compared to the very tight race the week prior. AEW Dynamite drew 957,000 viewers on TNT and a #5 ranking in 18-49 demographic while NXT drew 750,000 viewers on USA Network and a #22 ranking in 18-49 demographic.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW Dynamite started off with around 1,080,000 viewers and dropped to as low as 861,000 viewers during the triple threat match of Shawn Spears vs. Darby Allin vs. Peter Avalon. Meltzer also reported that other than the opening, the highest viewership point in the show was at 1,013,000 viewers during the Chris Jericho and MJF promos and debut of Wardlow segment. AEW’s biggest gain of the night was Jericho and MJF promos and Wardlow debut segment which gained 101,000 viewers. AEW’s biggest decline of the night was the Spears vs. Allin vs. Avalon match which lost 114,000 viewers.
NXT started off with 738,000 viewers and dropped to as low as 672,000 during the Pete Dunne vs. Killian Dain match. NXT’s highest point in viewership was at 774,000 viewers during the Lio Rush vs. Angel Garza and Xia Li vs. Aliyah matches. NXT’s biggest gain of the night was the Ladder match of Io Shirai vs. Mia Yim which gained 75,000 viewers. NXT’s biggest decline of the night was the Dunne vs. Dain match which lost 51,000 viewers. In regards to NXT’s over-run, the show gained an additional 215,000 viewers to end the night.
In regards to Canadian viewership, neither this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show nor last week’s episode of NXT that aired on November 8th ranked in the Top 10 for sports programming. Meltzer reported that the number ten spot in rankings for their respective nights was around 112,000 viewers meaning both show drew less than that. AEW faced very stiff sports competition due to going head-to-head with both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors games this past Wednesday.
