Young Bucks Comment on AEW Dynamite’s Early Television Success
TV Insider held a recent interview with The Young Bucks and one of the topics discussed included Matt Jackson’s thoughts on the early success of All Elite Wrestling’s weekly Dynamite show.
“I heard the expectations were possibly in the 400 or 500,000 range. The fact we crossed a million was great. I think opening we expected a big number. I don’t know if we expected the number, we got in 1.4. Of course, a week or two after there will always be a drop. We expected that.
If we can keep around a million, we’d be thrilled. That would be amazing. We’re such a brand-new thing for them. The next week is tough with Major League Baseball, NBA coming up. We understand that. This whole thing is a whirlwind. We are thrilled right now. And of course, you think about the other wrestling playing that night. And you want to best them, and the fact we are is great. We are also not taking that for granted because they have a great show too. Right now, we have one step foot forward and think about our brand, our television show and making it the best we can make it.”
Maria Manic ROH Status Update
As noted before, Maria Manic’s contract with Ring of Honor expired last week and she was quickly given an invitation from WWE for a tryout at their Performance Center.
Squared Circle Sirens and Fightful reported that Manic has recently signed a new deal with ROH after being given a very good offer from the company to return. Manic’s deal reportedly is one year in length with paid salary and is “non-exclusive” in terms of work status.
WWE Network Hidden Gems Addition
This week’s addition to WWE Network’s Hidden Gems series is Great American Bash themed, featuring one classic event.
This gem is the entire Great American Bash 1988 event from July 16, 1988 from Jim Crockett Promotions and the National Wrestling Alliance featuring a War Games match of Dusty Rhodes, “Dr. Death” Steve Williams, Lex Luger, Nikita Koloff, & Paul Ellering vs. The Four Horsemen (Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, & JJ Dillon).
WWENetworkNews reported that this gem features a warning label stating that it is the most complete form of the event possible due to production related issues and does not include any commentary during matches.
