As noted before, Colt Cabana filed a lawsuit against CM Punk claiming that Punk failed to reimburse all of his legal fees from last year’s Dr. Chris Amann defamation lawsuit. Punk filed a counter-suit claiming that Cabana broke the terms of their agreement and owes him money in unpaid legal fees. Both disputed the allegations made against themselves while Cabana’s lawsuit faced several setbacks due to issues the court had with several of his claims against Punk.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the presiding judge in the case, Circuit Court of Cook County Judge Daniel J. Kubiask, ruled on September 26th that both lawsuits have been officially dismissed with prejudice.
The official filing stated that the court “having examined said stipulation and being fully advised in the premises, finds that this cause of action has been fully compromised and settled and the parties have stipulated and agreed to the dismissal of the complaint with prejudice, and the court further finds that all costs have been paid.”
It was reported that no financial settlement was issued to either Cabana or Punk and that the official ruling was based on the mutual end of Cabana and Punk’s claims against each other. It was also reported that due to the lawsuits being dismissed with prejudice, neither Cabana nor Punk are legally allowed to file another lawsuit against the other over this issue.
