Here are the yet-to-be-announced matches that are on WWE’s “internal schedule” for the SummerSlam card, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Goldberg vs. Dolph Ziggler
As mentioned, Ziggler vs. The Miz apparently won’t be happening and it’ll be Goldberg instead, the Observer says.
Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan
The Roman Reigns attack angle at the end of SmackDown was reportedly done to set up this match, with Daniel Bryan apparently involved in the attack.
Drew McIntyre vs. Cedric Alexander
Aleister Black vs. Sami Zayn
This match is almost already official, with Zayn making a challenge on Raw and Black pretty much accepting on Twitter.
Women’s Tag Team Championship
Billie Kay & Peyton Royce (c) vs. Asuka & Kairi Sane vs. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross
The first three teams have been involved in a feud for the past few weeks (with the very limited TV time they’ve gotten), but it’ll be interesting to see how Bliss and Cross get involved.
Cruiserweight Championship
Drew Gulak (c) vs. Oney Lorcan
Maybe: Intercontinental Championship
Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Ali
This match seemed to be clearly set up on SmackDown, with Ali even challenging Nakamura to a SummerSlam match on Twitter, but as of now, it’s actually not on WWE’s internal card, though that obviously could change.
There are currently no tag team title matches on the card or on WWE’s internal card. Raw tag champs Anderson & Gallows battled with The Usos on Raw this week, but then battled with SmackDown tag champs The New Day on SmackDown. Maybe we’ll get a champions vs. champions match? Or maybe the titles just won’t be on the show.
That’s likely 14-16 matches, so we are in for a very long show.
SummerSlam will take place on August 11 in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena.
