Sasha Banks Returns on Raw (Video)

Sasha Banks returned to WWE for the first time since WrestleMania tonight on Raw.

The segment started when Natalya came out in a sling and said that her arm was injured from her match against Becky Lynch last night. Natalya said that it was the one year anniversary of her dad Jim Neidhart’s death and started to get emotional, when Sasha Banks’ music hit and she came out to a huge pop.

Sasha got in the ring, appeared to go to comfort Natalya, then suddenly attacked her when she wasn’t looking. She pulled off a purple-haired wig to reveal her actual hair, which was dyed blue. Sasha hit a bunch of offense on Natalya and attacked her “injured” arm.

Becky Lynch’s music then hit and she came out to brawl with Sasha, but Sasha quickly gained control, grabbed a chair and repeatedly hit Becky with it. Officials came down to stop the carnage, Sasha tossed the chair at the refs, smiled, and walked backstage.

Sasha hasn’t been on WWE TV since WrestleMania. She asked for her release around then because of general unhappiness, with the “straw that broke the camel’s back” coming when she and Bayley were told that they had to drop their newly won Women’s Tag Team titles at WrestleMania, and that they would be split up on different brands in the Superstar Shake-up.

Sasha and WWE had been at a stalemate for months, but WWE had frozen Sasha’s contract while she was sitting out, meaning her contract could technically continue indefinitely, so she really didn’t have much of a choice but to return.
