Mick Foley introduced the “24/7 Championship” tonight on Raw. The rules are similar to the 24/7 rule for the WWE Hardcore Championship. The title is on the line any time, anywhere, on any brand, including Raw, SmackDown, NXT, 205 Live and NXT UK. The announcement got a pretty cold reaction from the crowd.
Foley said that the first champion would be crowned tonight on Raw, placed the title in the ring, and said the first person to grab it would be the inaugural champ. WWE’s lower card guys (Titus O’Neil, Eric Young, No Way Jose, Mojo Rawley, EC3, Cedric Alexander, Gallows & Anderson, Drake Maverick) came out and brawled until Titus O’Neil grabbed it, becoming the first 24/7 Champion.
But as Titus celebrated on the ramp, Robert Roode came up from behind to roll him up for a pinfall, becoming the second 24/7 Champ just seconds after Titus won it. The rest of the guys then chased Roode backstage. Roode hid behind a crate until everyone ran past him, then when the coast was clear, he ran off on his own.
Later, Roode ran outside of the arena and ran into R-Truth and asked him for help. Truth told him to hide in the trunk of his car and he did. The other wrestlers ran up and Truth told them that Roode ran in another direction. They all ran off and Truth helped Roode out of the trunk. A referee was sitting in the passenger seat, Truth slammed Roode into the car, and pinned him to become the third 24/7 Champion, then got in his car and drove off.
