Kurt Angle Comments on WWE’s Decision for Baron Corbin as His Retirement Opponent
Kurt Angle recently held a fan Q&A session on his official Facebook page and one of the topics discussed included his retirement match at WrestleMania 35 and WWE’s decision for Baron Corbin as his final opponent.
“Honestly? My Wrestlemania 35 match. I would have liked to go out with a win, but I understand why it didn’t occur. Many people believe that I should have had a different opponent. Maybe. Maybe not. But my argument as to why it should have been Corbin is pretty strong. As a HOFer and Legend in WWE, I came to my final match last Sunday. It was my retirement match. As a legend or HOFer or- whatever you want to call me, my job is to leave the WWE by doing the honors for a younger talent. I did that. I would have loved to have won, but I don’t think I would have properly played my role if I did. You leave the company better than it was before you came. I think I was able to do that by losing to Corbin and then getting laid out on Raw the next night to Lars. It may have felt wrong, but it was the right thing to do. Agree to disagree.”
Angle also revealed that his choices for a retirement opponent were John Cena, AJ Styles, and Seth Rollins.

Future Episode of Table For 3 to Feature Vickie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, and Eric Bischoff
New York City radio station WFAN Sports Radio held a recent interview with Vickie Guerrero and one of the topics discussed included Guerrero revealing that a future episode of WWE Network’s Table For 3 series will feature Kurt Angle, Eric Bischoff, and herself as the guests.
“I know. It is [Kurt Angle’s final match]. Yeah, we share the same agent for Comic Cons and it’s his final match so, it’s time to be with his family and do some other projects so I’m really happy for him.” Guerrero said. “It’s great when someone can have a voice and say, ‘I’m done’. This is it for me’. Not that it worked out for my favor because I keep going back.” Vickie Guerrero laughed. “It’s our second family and I’m sure Kurt will be back many times when they call him so you can never leave and that’s the great thing because when you leave your doors open, it’s always something you can look forward to… WWE, they called me to do Table For 3 tomorrow night with Kurt Angle and Eric Bischoff so, that’s gonna be pretty incredible. So, you always go back and get your soul fed a little more so that’s the gift of going back to WWE.”
