As noted before, Lio Rush reportedly has “internal heat” within WWE regarding attitude issues backstage, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Dave Meltzer reported that Rush’s arrogance in believing that he should already be a big star in the company has been rubbing some people backstage the wrong way.
In an update to Rush’s backstage issues, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that these issues are severe enough that a source stated Rush is no longer welcomed in the locker room and would be very lucky if he was allowed back on the main roster any time soon.
Sapp also reported that one of the main causes for Rush’s backstage heat is him wanting to have his wife present with him at all times backstage. It was also reported that his wife currently does not have any backstage heat of her own but was involved in two notable instances caused by Rush.
One incident reportedly involved Rush having an argument with Finn Balor several months ago. Sapp reported that Balor offered some advice to Rush on how Vince McMahon would not be pleased if he discovered that Rush’s wife was present during show rehearsals. It was reported that Rush responded unfavorably and word of this incident quickly spread around the locker room.
Another incident reportedly involved Rush’s constant attempts to pitch a reality show to be made with his wife and made remarks in a disparaging tone regarding reality shows featuring other WWE talent. It was reported that this caused a lot of resentment in the locker room and also caused WWE officials to get involved.
