Joey Ryan said on Twitter that his “time on the indies is coming to an end” and announced a series of dates for his “farewell tour.”
He also hinted that he may have signed with a company, saying, “I guess the word is out now. Am I signing somewhere? Have I already signed elsewhere?”
Ryan was officially freed from his Lucha Underground contract last month and is finally able to sign with another company. The expectation has always been that he’ll end up in AEW since he’s a regular part of their “Being the Elite” series on YouTube, but WWE also reportedly made him an offer recently to likely wrestle in NXT, then become a coach.
Ryan’s gimmick definitely wouldn’t fit in with WWE’s current PG product, so their offer is widely seen as mostly a way to keep him away from AEW.
