A “fan” ran out from the crowd, jumped into the ring and tackled Bret Hart as he was speaking at the podium during Saturday night’s WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The broadcast immediately cut away just as he made contact with Bret and when it came back, several people were in the ring. Bret and Natalya, who was standing next to Bret when the attack happened, appeared to be OK and they continued their speeches at the podium a few minutes later.

WWE released a statement to media after the attack saying, “An over-exuberant fan surpassed our security at ringside and made his way briefly into the ring. The individual has been turned over to the proper authorities.”
LA Times columnist Arash Markazi said that the fan was charged with two counts of assault in the 3rd degree and disorderly conduct.
Natalya posted this on Twitter:
I’m so proud of my uncle @BretHart tonight during our HOF ceremony. Bret is a cancer survivor, a stroke survivor and one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. He didn’t deserve to be attacked or have his moment or my dad’s diminished. We got it back on track. Thank you, guys🙏
