At tonight’s NXT TV tapings at Full Sail, Triple H appeared and explained what would happen to the NXT Championship now that Tommaso Ciampa has had to undergo surgery for an injured neck that will likely keep him out for several months.
Triple H said that he was originally going to announce the match between Ciampa and Johnny Gargano for NXT TakeOver on April 5, but plans had to change due to Ciampa’s injury. He then said that there will be a fatal five way match tonight and the winner would face Johnny Gargano for the title at TakeOver.
He also said that the TakeOver match would be two-out-of-three falls.
The five way match was Adam Cole vs. Aleister Black vs. Matt Riddle vs. Ricochet vs. Velveteen Dream.
Adam Cole won, pinning Ricochet, so he will face Gargano in a 2-out-of-3 falls match at TakeOver.
Full spoilers from the show will be posted shortly.
