Wrestling legend Jushin Thunder Liger announced at a press conference today that he’ll be retiring at next year’s NJPW Tokyo Dome show in January. He said that in his last year, he hoped to wrestle all over the world and hoped to be at the G1 Supercard show in April at MSG. When he retires, he’ll be 55 years old.

Liger: thank you for joining me here. I will retire next year in January at the Tokyo Dome.

Liger: I might not be completely ‘full up’ on wrestling. But that’s the best time to stop. I have done everything I want to do but I’m not sick of it. I’m still mobile, I’m not a complete wreck.

Liger: what shall I do with the next ten months? I was Liger for thirty years, all over the world. So while I don’t want to call this a retirement tour, I want to go all over Japan and the world and show myself to everyone one more time.

Liger will not be on the cup tour since he’s going to Ireland. He wants fans all over to see him even if that doesn’t include new Japan fans. He absolutely wants to be at MSG. ‘Come on! I’m retiring! Book me there!’.
