Interview: Adam Cole, Triple H, and Johnny Gargano on WWE Halftime Heat

Several sports media outlets recently held interviews with Adam Cole, Triple H, and Johnny Gargano and one of the topics discussed included their thoughts on this Sunday’s live Halftime Heat event on the WWE Network.

Adam Cole stated in an interview with TMZ Sports that he believes NXT is the most exciting brand in the world and Sunday’s show will be the “best thirty minutes you’ve spent because it’s going to be a wild ride.”

“Truth be told, people turn in to the Super Bowl for excitement. That’s why they watch the Super Bowl. Like me personally, I’m not a huge football guy but I do watch the Super Bowl every year and I get in to it because it’s exciting. All I’ll say on that is that, I think NXT brings more excitement than anything else in the world. I’ve said this before and I’ll say this again, NXT is like a rock concert, roller coaster ride. This brand – the passion that the wrestlers have, the passion that the fans have, the style that we bring to the table, I standby the fact that you see some of the most innovative, hard-hitting, whatever you wanna call it – exciting is what I like to call it – pro wrestling, or sports entertainment on the planet. NXT is that.

So to get the chance to do this on such a big platform, whether that be YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, WWE.com, the WWE Network. There’s a chance for more people that have ever seen NXT before to see it. So I can promise you this, if you decide to change that channel or turn on the Network, or go to WWE.com, that thirty minutes you spend will be the best thirty minutes you’ve spent because it’s going to be a wild ride. I promise.”

Triple H stated in an interview with Sports Illustrated that Halftime Heat will be a great opportunity to showcase WWE’s future stars and will also be an “eye opening” moment for both sports and wrestling fans.

“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase the future. Our fans are thirsting for more, and it’s the perfect fit for NXT. This will be something spectacular like you’ve never seen before.”

“I don’t think you’ll see moonsaults on the Super Bowl halftime stage from Maroon 5. If you’re a sports fan or sports-entertainment fan, nothing can compete with this at halftime. These are some of the best talent in the world looking to prove what they bring to the table. They’re going to put on a show like only they can. That’s not to take away from Maroon 5, but I guarantee we’re going to put on something special.”

Johnny Gargano stated in an interview with Yahoo! Sports that he feels very excited for Sunday’s show and shared his own memory of the first Halftime Heat event involving The Rock and Mankind in 1999.

“This is such a big deal. I remember when I heard about it, I wasn’t aware of how big it would actually be. I’m a huge wrestling fan so I remember the first Halftime Heat. It was 20 years ago, I was 11 years old. I thought it was absolutely amazing. Now to be able to be a part of it and to show the world what NXT is all about and what we do. I believe what we do is put on a show unlike anyone else. I think it’s extremely special and I use that word a lot because I believe that’s what NXT is. I’m so excited for everyone from the non-wrestling fan to the hardcore fan to tune in and say, ‘Wow, this stuff is cool, I have to check it out more.

I think we have the right six guys to do it. Those are six of the best professional wrestlers in the world. If you look at our TakeOver events, our live events, our TV show, we always bring it. It doesn’t matter if there are 15 people in the crowd or 15,000, we bring it. I know this Sunday we are going to bring it like only NXT can and we’re going to open up a lot of eyes. We’re hungry, we’re excited and we’re going to put on a show that no one has ever seen before.”
