ESPN held a recent interview with Finn Balor discussing if he will unleash the Demon King against Brock Lesnar at this Sunday’s Royal Rumble event and his entrance at last year’s WrestleMania 34 event.
On the topic of if he will be unleashing the Demon King against Brock Lesnar in the WWE Universal Championship match at Sunday’s Royal Rumble event, Balor stated he will not due to feeling it has become too much of a crutch for him.
“I feel like maybe I leaned on the demon too much there in the past as a crutch, and I can assure you that the man who faces Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble will be Finn Balor, the man.”
On the topic of the lack of the Demon King at last year’s WrestleMania 34 event, Balor stated it was due to him wanting to spread a different message that day and the Demon look not being an appropriate time to do so.
“I think a lot of people were surprised when I came out at WrestleMania not in demon paint but I feel like I had a bigger message to spread that day — one of equality and acceptance.”
On the topic of if he has any special entrance plans for this Sunday’s Royal Rumble event, Balor stated he does not have any plans at the moment but he might consider wearing something special in the end.
“Honestly, this match just kind of came about so fast that I haven’t had much time to think about it. I don’t have any new gear, I don’t have any new looks, I don’t have any new ideas right now, but you know, we’re still six days away, so I’m sure I’ll come up with something.”
