For what it’s worth, WWE interviewed Shawn Michaels after his match at Crown Jewel and he (seemingly sincerely) talked about how tough the match was on his body, then said, “It’ll be a very good reminder of why I didn’t do it for eight years and why I’m not gonna do it again, if I can possibly help it.”
The key words are “if I can possibly help it,” since of course, WWE has a lot of money to throw around. He was adamant about not returning in the first place, but WWE made him an offer that he couldn’t refuse for this show, and there have been rumors that WWE wants Michaels to wrestle again if they can convince him (possibly at WrestleMania).
Michaels was busted open above his eyebrow and had a bloody nose in the match, which was from smashing his face on the floor during a top rope moonsault to the outside where Undertaker and Kane completely botched catching him and just let him fall to the floor.

Here’s what Michaels said in the interview after the match:
Oh my goodness. This whole day I’ve been anxious and nerves and everything else. Once I got in there though, with everybody, it was fun, it was comfortable. Did a few things, got a little warm.
You forget just how tough this is on your body. I’ll be feeling it for the next several days. It’ll be a very good reminder of why I didn’t do it for eight years and why I’m not gonna do it again, if I can possibly help it.
Monday, Shawn’s back at the [Performance Center]. We are going back to our regular life, boys. Lot of fun to do, but I’m glad it’s over too.
