DJZ vs. The Great Sasuke
DJ Z is substituting for The Amazing Red, who was unable to fly out of New York City due to the storm that caught the city completely unaware and pretty much screwed up everything yesterday.
DJ Z was wearing a mask created by Sasuke mentor Kendo. Early on DJ Z screwed with him and played the DJ noise. Sasuke got inside DJ Z’s head but was caught with a side headlock. DJ Z was sent into the ropes and shoulderblocked him down. They went back and forth until Sasuke shoved DJ Z off the top rope, sending him careening into fans sitting on a stage area next to the ring. Sasauke tried to come off the top with a senton, but DJ Z moved and Sasuke crashed and burned hard on the ring apron.
Back in the ring Z drilled Sasuke hard with a pair of stiff lariats, telling the “old man” to stay down. Sasuke came back with a series of kicks but was caught with a big leaping lariat for a two count. Sasuke’s mask was ripped at before DJ Z locked in an armbar. DJ Z nailed a Codebreaker before jawing with the fans. Sasuke made a comeback and locked in an abdominal stretch, before hitting a piledriver for a near fall. Sasuke sent to the top for a swanton, but DJ Z pulled his knees up. Z went to where the sound system was set up on a stage adjacent to the stage and ran off, hitting a tornado DDT into the ring for a close near fall. Cool spot.
DJ Z rolled for a move but was caught and planted with a powerbomb. Sasuke went to the top but was nailed with a senton and pinned.
Winner: The Great Sasuke via Pinfall.
Tony Deppen vs. Jungle Boy
Deppen played a role where he was basically Booger from Revenge of the Nerds, being disgusting. He blew a snot rocket on Jungle Boy. Jungle Boy’s deal is pretty self-explanatory. They had a nice back and forth sequence including Boy doing spots right out of Tarzan where he would land on his feet. He has a good, young, likeable look. Deppen caught him with a hard chop and worked him over, then snotted at the first row. That’s horrible.
Jungle Boy was sent into the ropes but turned it into a head scissors takedown, Jungle nailed a number of springboard moves that really got the crowd into the match, leading to him nailing a dropkick. The crowd changted for Jungle Boy. He nailed a rana over the top, taking Deppen with him but Deppen landed on his feet and held onto Jungle, nailing a powerbomb into the ringpost. Deppen returned to the ring and hit a dive into the crowd on Jungle Boy. They brawled through the building and it was a fun, chaotic throwback scene. Jungle Boy hit an Asai Moonsault to Deppen on the outside stage.
Deppen nailed Jungle Boy and choked him in the corner. Jungle Boy made a comeback. They fired back and forth with chops. Jungle Boy caught him with a sit-out powerbomb for a two count. Boy took a drink from a ringside fan. You’re killing your gimmick, kid! He charged Deppen in the corner but ate an elbow. Jungle Boy hit a cutter for a two count. Jungle Boy went for a 450 splash off the top but Deppen moved. Jungle Boy rolled through and charged but ate a hell of a knee strike for a close two count. Deppen looked frustrated.
Deppen worked over Jungle Boy with a series of strikes. Deppen drilled Boy with a chop. Jungle Boy responded in kind. Jungle Boy nailed a series of forearm strikes. They continued battering each other. Deppen went for a DVDR but Jungle Boy escaped and nailed a reverse rana. Jungle Boy elevated him to the top rope and went for a back superplex. Deppen fired back but was drilled across the back. Jungle Boy hit a move that came off like a rollup, sending Deppen crashing down into the mat for another close two count.
Jungle Boy went for a move but Deppen slipped out, rolled him up and hooked the tights for the pin.
Winner: Tony Deppen via Pinfall.
The fans chanted for Jungle Boy and chanted for him to “Please come back.”
Brody King vs. Bob “Hardcore” Holly
They locked up. King backed Holly, who looked to be in good shape, into the corner and let him go clean. King maintained control on Holly early on. The match was slow and one-sided early on. Holly made a comeback and drilled King with shots across the back and kicks to the face. King caught him with a slam, the followed up with another. King rebounded off the ropes and hit a back senton splash. Holly exploded with a spear out of nowhere for a two count. That was the biggest spring in Holly’s step thus far.
KIng nailed a suplex. They began drilling each other hard with chops across the chest. They were nasty, nasty shots. The stream went out at the building, FITE is working to get it back.
Live, KIng survives several Alabama Slams and came back with a lariat to score the pin.
Winner: Brody King via Pinfall.
They shook hands after the match in a show of respect. Holly took the ring mic and thanked everyone, then put over King as a bad SOB. Holly joked he’s not as big as he used to be because he’s not “on the gas.”
Human Tornado vs. Penelope Ford
Human Tornado is a longtime California talent probably best remembered for Wrestling Society X. Ford has broken out in the last year and worked the All In and NWA 70 events in recent months.
The early portion of the bout was Tornado manhandling her and physically treating her like he was toying with her. Ford shocked him with a takedown and cinched in a front facelock. Tornado placed her on the top rope and patted her on the boobs. She slapped him, then used a lucha style armdrag off the top. She knocked Tornado out of the ring with a head scissor takedown. He returned to the ring apron on the stage side. Ford charged for a dive but he cut her off in the ropes and nailed a hard suplex on the stage. It sounded like a nasty fall. Tornado worked her over with several punches then tossed her hard into the ring. She got caught up in the ropes and was grabbing at her knee when she got into the ring.
Tornado stomped her in the mid-section and tossed her hard into the corner. He did his dancing into the kicks in the corner. He did the John Cena “You can’t see me” motion, then hit a running bootscrape in the corner. Tornado slammed her but Ford still kicked up. Tornado continued working her over. The crowd chanted for Ford. Tornado suplexed Ford for another two count. Ford finally avoided a leaping kick in the corner. Ford nailed a series of kicks and hit a hard German suplex into the turnbuckles for a two count.
Ford went to the top for a flying bodypress but was backslapped down for a two count. Ford was worked over but kept kicking out. He cinched in a rear chinlock. Ford was worked over for a long time but Ford kept kicking out. In fact, it may have been too long. Tornado brought her to the top but she nailed a Sliced Bread #2 to turn the tide and score a two count. Ford finally came back and scored the pin to a nice big pop.
Winner: Penelope Ford via Pinfall.

D’Lo Brown vs. Ethan Page
Brown was in control early and chopped him hard in the corner. Page mocked him, doing the People’s Elbow. Page was kicked off during a charge. Brown hit a moonsault, which was impressive, for a two count. Brown made a comeback after being worked over with a series of right hands and a clothesline. Brown scooped him up for a slam. Brown nailed his legdrop. The crowd was really into Brown doing all his Attitude Era mannerisms.
Page caught him with a forearm smash but Brown rebounded and nailed him with the Low Down for a two count. Brown placed Page on the top rope. Page fought him off and nailed a swanton bomb for a close two count. They went back and forth until Page scored the pin.
Winner: Ethan Page via Pinfall. Page struck D’Lo in the head with hidden brass knuckles for the finish.
Page took the mic and said, “By any means necessary!” which of course was the Nation of Domination’s catch phrase.

Seven-Way Scramble
Kikutaro vs. Takeshi Minamino vs. Delilah Doom vs. Facade vs. “Superstar” Jake Atlas vs. Jimmy Lloyd vs. Chase Owens
Owens and Kikutaro started out. Owens slapped away an attempt at a “Too Sweet.” They went back and forth. Jake Atlas showed some real promise and agility. Façade nailed a nice springboard kick. Jimmy Lloyd tagged in and manhandled Façade. Delilah Doom nailed some nice spots including a dropkick and a 619. She showed some really nice fire. Atlas caught her coming off the ropes and slammed her down. They built up to a multiple person spot where everyone had someone in a head scissors around neck. Kikutaro turned them over with a chinlock on Jimmy Llloyd while Doom locked on a Boston Crab on the other side. That was a cool spot.
Owens disrespected Doom with a crotch chop. That fired her up and she began whipping out German suplexes on everyone. Kikutaro was too heavy to lift so she lowblowed him, then nailed it. Owens superkicked her. Owens began whipping out strikes on Lloyd, who nailed a springboard cutter. Façade walked the ropes and leapt into a Canadian Destroyer on Lloyd. Doom grabbed him by the braids and flipped him out of the ring. Doom nailed a leaping tope into a tornado DDT on the floor.
It turned into all sorts of chaos, but the crowd was into it. Atlas went for a springboard move off the ropes, but it went a little funky. Façade hit a springboard 450 splash to the floor. They all went all out with big moves. Atlas hit a spinning slam on Doom that looked great. Atlas has some great physical wrestling moves. Lloyd spiked him with a piledriver and scored the pin.
Winner: Jimmy Lloyd via Pinfall.

KTB vs. Jacob Fatu
KTB stands for Kyle the Beast. Fatu is the son of The Tonga Kid aka Tama of the Islanders. They noted he was wearing a pair of Rikishi’s tights from the Samoan SWAT Team era.
They went right after each other. Fatu tried to use a chair. Beast powered him into a DDT on the apron. Beast yelled at the crowd but was hit with a big dive to the floor. That was DAMN impressive. They brought a door into the ring and teased doing spots into it after it was placed in the corner. Fatu nailed a superkick. They battled back and forth with right hands. Beast nailed a big spinebuster and KILLED Fatu with an insane spear through the door. He picked him up for a sit-down powerbomb for another near fall. This is just two big Hoss monsters fighting it out. Another door sized piece of wood is brought into the ring. It is bridged between two chairs. Fatu made a comeback and drove him through the wood with a Samoan Drop, scoring the pin.
Winner: Jacob Fatu via Pinfall.
One of my favorite things about @JANELABABY's shows is the platform given to talents that deserve it. Great showing by @SAMOANWEREWOLF! #JJLAC

“The Fly” Eli Everfly vs. Marko Stunt
Everfly worked over Stunt, who took all sorts of punishment. Stunt was placed in a chair on the floor but escaped a dive to the floor and Everfly wiped out. Stunt hit a tope to the floor. Stunt nailed a nice dropkick. Stunt went for a 450 splash but rolled through when Everfly rolled out of the way. Everfly missed a standing moonsault. They battled back and forth. Everfly nailed a springboard twisting DDT. Stunt was nailed with a sit-down Michinoku Driver. Everfly tied him up on the mat.
Stunt avoided a charge in the corner and drilled him with a shining wizard, but was too tired to take advantage. They each recovered and battled back and forth. Stunt was worked over and was nailed with a rolling boot to the face. Everfly slammed him into the ring with a rana off the top and drilled him with a piledriver for a close two count. Stunt rolled out to the floor. Everfly went to the floor and returned with someone carrying a door for him. The camera angles didn’t make it clear what was going on. It appeared to build to a spot where Stunt hit a Canadian Destroyer off the stage through the door to the floor. Ridiculous.
They rang the bell and announced that “due to the uncontrollable nature of this contest”, the referee has awarded the bout to Everfly. Something obviously went wrong here.
Winner: Eli Everfly
Marko Stunt got injured during the spot through the door. Someone at the building told me that it appears Stunt may have suffered a broken shin or ankle. Hopefully that is not the case, but certainly this wasn’t the planned finish. They are asking fans to make a path so they can get Stunt out of the ringside area.
Marko just Hurt his leg I just talked to him on the phone, he’s hurt but will be alright! #JJLAC

GCW World Championship
Nick Gage (c) vs. David Arquette
This match is completely ridiculous and I really appreciate the batsh** nuttiness of booking it. When Arquette was announced as the former WCW Champion, he apologized as he smiled at the crowd.
Gage did some great mic work to rile up the crowd, putting himself over. The crowd loved it and chanted “Nick F***ing Gage.”Arquette was a bit wary, as you might imagine. Gage offered a punch then attacked Arquette and stomped the living hell out of him as Arquette tried to ball up and take it. Gage worked him over in the corner and brought him to the floor. Gage beat Arquette on the floor and nailed him with a soda can. Gage dragged him through the building. He finally brings Arquette back to the ring.
Gage misses a heabutt to the mat and is stunned. Arquette knocked him tol the floor. He climbed the ropes but slipped. You could see his knees shaking as he went back up. Arquette hit a dive off the top onto Gage. Seriously, who would have predicted this in 2018? Arquette went for a dive holding a chair but it didn’t work out. He tried to do it again and nailed it. Gage got a beer bottle and smashed it over Arquette’s head. Arquette was rolled back into the ring, A door was placed in corner. Gage speared Arquette painfully through it in the corner. Arqutte kept grabbed his ribs and back.Gage smashed a piece of the broken lumber down on Arquette. The crowd chanted “one more time.” He demolished another piece over Arquette, then went to the backstage area. He returned with light tubes.
Gage brought them into the ring but Joey Ryan, in a sling, rolled into the ring and stepped in between Gage and Arquette. Gage nailed him but was caught with a superkick. Joey was going for the d*** flip and was setting up when The Messiah, from XPW fame, hit the ring, nailed Ryan and tossed him out of the ring. Arquette nailed a stunner but Gage survived that and drilled him across the back with a set of light tubes. I can guarantee you we’d have never seen Mr. T or Lawrence Taylor take light tubes!
Gage placed a group of light tubes bridged across several chairs. Gage grabbed him but Arquette fired back and bit Gage’s face. He nailed a stunner through the light tubes. Arquette was bleeding from different cuts. Gage was placed in the corner. Arquette placed light tubes on him and hit a cannonball into the corner, smashing him with the light tubes. OK, seriously, that was insane. Gage is covered but kicked out at two. That spot cut up Arquette even more.
Gage made a comeback and began jabbing and ripping at Arquette’s forehead with a shard of glass. He began carving his forehead then smashed him over the back of the head with it. Arquette’s face was all bloody at this point. He left the ring holding his neck, then returned to the ring. Gage nailed him and he went down. They grappled and Gage snapped him over and scored the pin. Arquette got right up and walked out, holding his neck.
Winner: Nick Gage via Pinfall to retain the GCW Heavyweight Championship.
Gage took the mic and said, “Don’t be in a death match if you don’t want to take sh**!” He said that there are Death Match wrestlers who do this every week and bleed and love it. He thanked the fans and said he would do this forever for them.
Bedlam has broken out in @GCWrestling_! @DavidArquette… @thekingnickgage… light tubes! #JJLAC

Overall, an extremely entertaining show with echoes of the 2000s-era CZW with some of the more chaotic action, a lot of hard work, some unique names used in supporting roles and more. This was gritty, fun independent fever dream pro wrestling.
