Newsweek held a recent interview with Stephanie McMahon discussing the potential for more all-women WWE events in the future and WWE’s women’s division. Sky Sports also held a recent interview with Stephanie McMahon discussing WWE’s decision to go forward with holding Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 2nd.
On the topic of the potential of WWE holding more all-women events in the future, McMahon stated it is very likely Evolution will become an annual event for the company.
“In terms of the Women’s Evolution in the WWE, if it’s a success like we know it will be, this can absolutely become an annual event.”
On the topic of WWE’s Women’s division, McMahon stated she believes there is a lot of room for more women’s wrestling to be featured in WWE’s future.
“There’s so much we can do with the women in the WWE. We need to continue to grow our roster, continue to reach out to all these women who are unsung heroes all over the world. Many were able to perform in the Mae Young Classic and to show all of us what they got and they absolutely steal the show every time. We can do anything we want to do. I hope for Evolution 2, Mae Young Classic 3, women’s programming on the network, main eventing Wrestlemania, and true gender parity and equality in our roster.”
On the topic of WWE’s decision to go forward with holding Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, McMahon stated it was a tough decision to make due to recent circumstances but in the end, it simply came down to a business decision being made.
“Moving forward with Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia was an incredibly tough decision, given that heinous act. But, at the end of the day, it is a business decision and, like a lot of other American companies, we decided that we’re going to move forward with the event and deliver Crown Jewel for all of our fans in Saudi Arabia and around the world.”
