TJP defeated Lince Dorado
TJP came out to a new electric guitar mix of his Mega Man-inspired music. Lince Dorado entered with the rest of the Lucha House Party. Percy Watson told McGuinness to stop mocking the LHP. TJP powered Dorado down with a shoulder block, but Dorado got a dropkick and an armbar. On commentary, McGuinness talked about how El Santo’s mask was so important to him that he didn’t take it off for 66 years. TJP locked on a front choke over the ropes for a four count before landing a crossbody and raining down fists from the mount.
TJP hit the Pentagon Jr. arm snapper and didn’t even bother going for a cover. A dropkick to the back and an outside-in tope con hilo got two.
TJP worked on Dorado’s arms with a double armlock/abdominal stretch combo. A butterfly lock by TJP led to an escape, but TJP hit a springboard crossbody. Dorado landed a nasty Wahoo-style chop and then a rana off the top. Dorado hit a moonsault block for two and went up top again, but he got crotched up top.
Dorado hit a superkick and a bronco buster. TJP raked his eyes, grabbed his mask, and yanked it off to force a pinfall with a schoolboy. Dorado’s face wasn’t fully revealed, but his bald head was. His right shoulder was up the entire time as well — but the decision stood.
TJP looked at his heavily-bruised chest and grabbed a noisemaker to mock Dorado.
Backstage: Drake Maverick, Lio Rush
Lio Rush talked to “DM the GM” about him being unable to compete tonight due to his work with Bobby Lashley. Drake Maverick told him that he can do whatever he wants on Raw, but he needs to be able to fulfill his commitments on 205 Live — just as Maverick does. Rush said he’s money, and Maverick replied that he won’t make any money if he doesn’t compete next week against Noam Dar.
Backstage: Drake Maverick, Mustafa Ali
Maverick met with Mustafa Ali, who was overjoyed about returning to the ring. He liked his tune-up match, but he wants to face Hideo Itami. Maverick told him he watched his last match with Itami and he doesn’t want to see him have issues once again. However, he talked to the medical staff and he agreed with them — Ali is ready and will face Itami next week.
WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander defeated Drew Gulak to retain his title
Brian Kendrick distracted Alexander, nearly resulting in an instant Gu-Lock. Kendrick tripped Alexander up in front of the ref, resulting in Kendrick and Jack Gallagher being ejected.
Alexander took Gulak down with an armlock before trapping the left arm with his knee and stomping on it. Gulak recovered with a high-angle exploder and stomped away on him in the ropes. Gulak went for a suplex over the ropes, but Alexander landed on his feet and suplexed Gulak hard on the floor. They made it back in at 9.5.
Alexander landed a flying lariat off the top for two, and Gulak turned a Lumbar Check attempt into a small package for two. The Neuralyzer connected for Alexander, but Gulak went to the floor to avoid being pinned. Sadly, this resulted in him eating a flip dive.
Gulak applied the Gu-Lock, but Alexander got to the ropes. Gulak got two off a short-arm lariat. Alexander dropped down off a sunset flip for 2.5.
Buddy Murphy watched the match backstage on TV at a 45-degree angle.
Alexander hit a jumping high kick and a snap Michinoku driver for two. He hit a nasty kneeling chop — and Gulak wanted another and got two more. Gulak climbed up top and hit a flying lariat off the top for two. Gulak got the Gu-Lock, but Alexander hoisted him up for a corner Death Valley Driver.
Gulak trapped the jaw and landed some nasty slaps to the chin, but he ate a Lumbar Check and Alexander retained.
