Shawn Michaels may be coming out of retirement for another match. That’s the “working idea internally,” according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The match reportedly would not be a singles match and the target date would be WWE’s next show in Saudi Arabia, which will reportedly be on November 2. WrestleMania is also a possibility, but that’s still a few months from now and the Saudi officials in charge of the show apparently requested Michaels, just like they previously requested other 90s wrestlers like Yokozuna, the Ultimate Warrior, Undertaker and Hulk Hogan.
WWE reportedly tried to get Michaels to come out of retirement for the last show in Saudi Arabia in April and offered him a lot of money, but he turned them down. At the time, X-Pac said on his podcast, “You know they wanted to get Shawn, and he was just like, ‘you know what, don’t even bother sending me an offer and trying to tempt me’. Cause there’s huge money offers. And he’s going, ‘I got a thing with one of my kids, and I’m doing that and that’s all there is to it.’”
Monday’s segment between Shawn Michaels and Undertaker on Raw was seemingly building towards a match, with Undertaker baiting Michaels to come out of retirement. It’s said that Vince McMahon has a rule of not wanting to get people excited about a match that he doesn’t plan on delivering.
Michaels will be at WWE Super Show-Down next month and will likely be involved in the Undertaker vs. Triple H match in some way. That could further set up a future match involving Michaels and Undertaker.
