Recent episode of the Busted Open Radio show on Sirius XM Radio had Tessa Blanchard as the guest discussing her thoughts on not signing with the WWE in 2014, working in Impact Wrestling, and more.
On the topic of not signing with the WWE in 2014, Blanchard stated she felt heart broken after not getting a contract from the WWE after her tryout.
“After my WWE tryout in 2014, I was like ‘alright, I’m getting signed. I’m going to be there. I’m ready, lets do this. It’s happening. Everything is happening right now.’ When it didn’t happen I was heart broken. I think it’s because God had a plan for me. If I would have gone and they would have signed me right away, I don’t think I would have had the life experiences or the experiences in wrestling,”
On the topic of working in Impact Wrestling, Blanchard stated she initially felt a little nervous but was quickly put to ease by the very welcoming environment of Impact’s locker room.
“At first I was a little nervous. I didn’t really know what to expect. TV style is very new to me still. But the locker room and everyone has been so welcoming there and it’s just a very good environment there. Everyone wants the best for each other. I haven’t run into any problems where it’s like people talking about other people or saying one thing and turning around and saying a different thing. It feels just like good vibes there, like good energy. Everyone really, really wants the best for each other.”
On the topic of the help she has received in Impact Wrestling, Blanchard praised Petey Williams, Gail Kim, and Jimmy Jacobs for being very helpful towards her career in the company.
“For instance, Petey Williams and Gail Kim agent a few of our matches and they’re just so knowledgeable. They’re so brilliant. And doing pretapes with Jimmy Jacobs. Jimmy Jacobs has one of the greatest minds I think. He is so creative and brilliant. He thinks of things that I never would’ve thought and it’d get my mind racing and it just stems into a bunch of different ideas.”
Other topics discussed during the interview included her dietary habits, her family’s wrestling history, working in the Mae Young Classic, and thoughts on the upcoming All In event.
