Reason for Short Match Between John Cena and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34

The plan for a John Cena vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania was made months ago, but at some point, WWE realized that the Undertaker would not be able to wrestle in a full match of any length, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, so they went with the quick squash match.

Undertaker’s health status was also the main reason why WWE went in the direction it did for the match’s build. They wanted fans to know that Undertaker would eventually fight Cena, but wanted to downplay the idea of it being a big match on the card so fans would not be disappointed at its severe lack of time.

WWE Poll Asks Fans Which Brand Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens Should Join Next

WWE.com is currently holding a poll asking fans which brand Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens should join within the near future. The choices are NXT, RAW, or go back to SmackDown.

At the time of this report, NXT leads with 58% of the fan vote followed by RAW with 34% of the vote.

International Pro Wrestling: United Kingdom announced they will be running a women’s themed event called GRL on March 27th in Catebury, England and the card features a singles match of Xia Brookside versus Kay Lee Ray.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that last Friday’s Impact vs. Lucha Underground event in New Orleans almost reached sellout status with around 1,400 tickets sold overall.

Pro Wrestling Revolver announced that the card of their May 5th show in West Des Moines, Iowa features Penta 0M versus Jimmy Jacobs and a Hardcore match of Tommy Dreamer versus Jake Manning.
