Kota Ibushi to Appear at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Wrestlemania Weekend Event

Revolution Pro Wrestling announced Kota Ibushi will be making an appearance at their April 6th show in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ibushi will be teaming up with Flip Gordon and Shane Strickland in a six-man tag team match against Will Ospreay, Rocky Romero, & Chuck Taylor.

Other matches announced for the event’s card are an Undisputed British Heavyweight Championship match of Tomohiro Ishii versus champion Zack Sabre Jr., a tag team match of Hiroshi Tanahashi & Juice Robinson versus the Aussie Open, Minoru Suzuki versus Jeff Cobb, and Martin Stone versus David Starr.


NJPW Announces Two Matches for Next Month’s Sakura Genesis Event

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently announced two matches for the card of Sakura Genesis on April 1st. These matches are an IWGP Heavyweight Championship match of Zack Sabre Jr. versus champion Kazuchika Okada and an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship Triple Threat match of BUSHI & Hiromu Takahashi versus Roppongi 3K (Sho & Yoh) versus champions Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru.

In regards to the IWGP Heavyweight Championship match, Sabre Jr earned the right to challenge for the title after defeating Tanahashi in the finals of the New Japan Cup tournament. If Okada successfully defends his title, he will tie Tanahashi’s NJPW record for most IWGP Heavyweight title defenses in a single reign at 11 defenses in a row.


ROH’s Next PPV Event and Early 2018 Attendance Numbers

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported the next pay-per-view event for Ring of Honor will be their Best in the World show on June 29th in Baltimore, Maryland. Meltzer reported ROH will be holding the event at the new UMBC Event Center instead of their usual DuBurns Arena due to the UMBC Center having a higher crowd capacity for wrestling events.

In regards to the company’s early 2018 attendance numbers, wrestling analyst Lavie Margolin reported the company averaged around 1,266 fans per show for the first quarter of this year and is up 30 percent compared to last year’s first quarter. The company also managed to reach a sellout crowd status for seven out of the eight shows held so far this year. Both the sellout percentage and crowd average for this year are the highest in company history.
