Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio was checked out by a doctor yesterday for what is feared to be a torn bicep that he suffered at a Northeast Wrestling show on Saturday night.
There’s still no confirmation on the severity of the injury, but it was said that Mysterio was able to move his arm in ways that would not be possible if he had a complete bicep tear, so it’s possible that it’s just a partial tear or something else, according to PWInsider.
Also, Mysterio is still expected to have a meeting with WWE soon to try to negotiate a deal, so it looks like the injury might not stop him from being signed.
Bobby Fish
Bobby Fish injured his knee at an NXT house show on Sunday night.
He was at the NXT tapings tonight on crutches and the word is that he will be undergoing surgery this week in Birmingham, Alabama, according to PWInsider, so it looks like he may be out for a while.
Fish & O’Reilly were scheduled to face the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament for the Tag Team Championships at TakeOver: New Orleans, but that match will likely not be happening now. The backup plan is that the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Classic will be crowned the new tag team champions. The finals for the tournament were supposed to happen before TakeOver, but they might be moved to the PPV now.
Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre, who suffered a torn bicep in November in his NXT title loss to Andrade Almas at TakeOver: WarGames, has been working out in the ring at the WWE Performance Center over the last few days and is close to returning to the ring, according to PWInsider.
McIntyre’s return estimate has been some time in April, so it looks like he’s on track for that. His goal was to return before TakeOver on April 7, which is a month away.
