Kenny Omega Tops Sports Illustrated’s Top 10 Wrestlers of 2017
Sports Illustrated recently announced Kenny Omega took the magazine’s top spot for 2017’s Best Wrestler award. WWE had the most wrestlers listed with five followed by New Japan Pro Wrestling with three wrestlers. AJ Styles was the highest WWE wrestler represented in the list at the number two spot.
The official reason given why Omega was ranked higher than Styles was due to them feeling Omega’s best three matches of 2017 were better than Styles best three matches and Omega not having a WWE-like machine to generate the buzz for him this year.
Sports Illustrated’s Top Ten List:
1) Kenny Omega
2) AJ Styles
3) Roman Reigns
4) John Cena
5) Braun Strowman
6) Kazuchika Okada
7) Kevin Owens
8) Matt Riddle
9) Cody Rhodes
10) Keith Lee
