WWE is currently rumored to be considering plans to hold a pay-per-view event in Australia next year, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet.
Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin reported there have been serious talks within the WWE recently over the idea of holding a pay-per-view event next year in Australia under the old Global Warning brand name. The last time WWE held a Global Warning Tour event was in 2002 in Melbourne, Australia with over 50,000 in attendance.
Satin also reported WWE is currently planning for this event to occur next October with the Melbourne Cricket Ground as the location. This stadium is listed to have the capacity for 100,000 people although it is unknown if WWE is targeting that number for the event’s attendance. Unlike the previous Global Warning event, WWE is also planning on broadcasting next year’s show on both traditional pay-per-view providers and the WWE Network.
