Possible Reason for Ruby Riott’s Recent Name Change
As previously reported, Ruby Riott debuted a slightly new name during this week’s episode of Smackdown. While she was known as Ruby Riot in NXT, WWE decided to tweak her name to Ruby Riott going forward for Smackdown.
The reason for the name change appears to be due to WWE’s trademark request for “Ruby Riot” was recently opposed and WWE likely abandoned their filing instead of contesting the dispute with whoever opposed their trademark request.
WWE filed the trade mark for Ruby Riot on 4/4/2017.
Was responded to on 6/27/2017, had until 12/27 to reply with proof.Seems like they abandoned and went "Ruby Riott." pic.twitter.com/1BnW4lyhM3

WWE Considering Holding More Starrcade Events in the Future
WWE is currently considering holding another Starrcade event in 2018, according to PWInsider.
PWInsider reported last Saturday’s event was seen as a huge success within the WWE in regards to the live gate being higher than their previous show held in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was also reported Michael “PS” Hayes originally pitched the idea in June to use the old WCW event’s name and was the writer of last weekend’s special event.
At the moment, WWE still has no plans to air last weekend’s event on the WWE Network since it was always planned to be treated as just a regular house show with a little extra fanfare thrown in for the Greensboro crowd.
Current Status of WWE Network’s Edge and Christian Show & Why No Second Season Yet
During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Edge downplayed rumors of WWE canceling his The Edge and Christian Show That Totally Reeks of Awesomeness show on the WWE Network. Edge stated the official reason for the lack of a second season is due to him being very busy with other projects. He mentioned the biggest difficulty right now is finding enough time in his current schedule to tape new episodes but it is something he wants to do within the near future.
“In terms of where we could have time to film it and fit it in, that was the big difficulty. The show was a lot of work, but we had a great time with it.
We wrote it, produced it, directed it, and were really hands-on. There were 14-hour days and it was pretty intensive from a time perspective. There are still talks, and they want to do it.
If I can somehow cram it in, we’ll make it happen. We have a hiatus on Vikings over the summer, so maybe I could squeeze it in there, but I want to spend time with my family, too. It’s a matter of trying to juggle all these things, but the top priority is being dad and partner, and then comes acting and any other commitments, all the while doing the podcast, too. It’s a matter of wearing a lot of hats, but I just don’t know if my head is big enough for all of them.”
