NJPW Rejects Idea to have Wrestle Kingdom 12 Available on PPV in the US
New Japan Pro Wrestling is reported to have rejected ideas for Wrestle Kingdom 12 to be made available on pay-per-view in the United States, according to the Wrestling Observer.
The Obersver’s Dave Meltzer reported the company only wants the event to be shown on NJPW World and feel the upcoming Chris Jericho versus Kenny Omega match will benefit their Network-like service a lot more if it was exclusive than if it was also be carried by a PPV provider. Chris Jericho mentioned on a recent episode of his Talk Is Jericho podcast show about pitching the idea to NJPW officials as a way to generate more interest for Wrestle Kingdom 12 and NJPW itself.
Meltzer also reported Fite TV recently made an offer to NJPW to carry the event in the United States but were rejected due to NJPW wanting all the advertising for this event to be focused on their NJPW World service to help boost the subscriber base for next year.
