Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks were interviewed at a recent Ring of Honor show in Fort Lauderdale, FL by Chris Van Vliet. Chris sent along the following highlights:
On the cease and desist letter that WWE sent them:
Matt Jackson: I actually considered making gear with the cease and desist letter all over, but I’m like I probably legally can’t do that. It’s a really lengthy letter with really strong words that try to scare you. I had it emailed to me. I heard they FedEx it. I’ve heard stories about them emailing it and if they don’t get a response, they’ll actually send you a physical copy.”Their thoughts on WWE telling them to stop doing Too Sweet:
Kenny Omega: “We don’t need Too Sweet. We never did. They think that by taking away Too Sweet they’ve crippled us somehow. Like ‘Oh, we’re really sticking it to them, now they’re not going to sell any merchandise.’ It’s not the case. We couldn’t care less.
Nick Jackson: We’ve actually sold more merchandise to be honest
Matt Jackson: The best opening day for a t-shirt we’ve ever had was was our cease and desist t-shirt. Like by far.”Kenny Omega on his match with Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 12:
Kenny Omega: It’s a match that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time and I don’t mean particularly Chris Jericho, I just mean something of that magnitude. If I couldn’t be in the main event, which I couldn’t this year, I still wanted the chance to steal the show. I still wanted the chance to be the match that was talked about. So Chris Jericho has given me just that opportunity and together I really hope we can make even more headlines before the show and even after the show.”
