Impact Bookers
Tonight’s PPV and the TV tapings this week will be the first events booked by the team of John Gaburick, Scott D’Amore, Sonjay Dutt, Jeremy Borash and Abyss, according to PWInsider.
Everything before this was booked by Jeff Jarrett’s team.
Taya Valkyrie
As mentioned the Rosemary vs. Taya Valkyrie “first blood” match at Bound for Glory had to be canceled because Impact feared that once she enters Canada, she possibly may not have been able to re-enter the US due to immigration issues since she is a Canadian citizen and not a permanent resident of the US.
PWInsider says that she was at the airport yesterday ready to fly out to Canada for the PPV and TV tapings, so it was a last minute problem that no one foresaw. The tapings this week will go until January, so she will be back then.
Wrestlers Concerned About Pay Cuts
All of Impact’s referees left the company last week and Impact is expected to use local refs for the shows this week. According to PWInsider, Impact offered them new deals that paid much less than they were previously making and the referees decided to leave.
This has lead to some concern among wrestlers that they could also be asked to renegotiate their deals to take less money.
Impact is doing a lot of deep cost-cutting and wrestlers who aren’t needed at the PPV are only being brought in for the TV taping dates where they are needed and some are being sent home after their taping dates.
Impact Offices Moving to Toronto
Anthem’s Ed Nordholm sent an email to staff informing them that Impact’s current offices in Nashville are going to be “consolidated” with the Anthem office in Toronto eventually. This means that the Nashville office will likely be no more soon. The staff working there may either move to Canada, work from home, or be done with the company.
