Ember Moon defeated Ruby Riot and Sonya Deville in a Women’s title qualifying match
The winner of this match joins Kairi Sane and Peyton Royce in the fatal four-way match at TakeOver: War Games to determine the new NXT Woman’s Champion.
Each woman took turns having the advantage on both opponents, as almost shockingly there were no attempts by any two of them to team up and eliminate the third participant. Moon made the first big mistake of the match as she went for a springboard move, but Deville speared her in mid-air. That probably would have been enough for the pin, but Riot dove in to break it up.
Deville got hers a few seconds later as she ran down the apron for a dive onto Moon, but instead she got caught with a dropkick. Riot decided to go three-for-three with bad ideas for high-risk maneuvers and she hit a dive off the top rope but landed awkwardly on her knee.
Deville got Riot in an ankle lock and ripped and tore at the leg of Riot. Finally, Moon came off the top rope with The Eclipse on Deville and then pinned Riot, who was still writhing in pain after the ankle lock.
Earlier: The Undisputed Era and Roderick Strong
Earlier this week, security cameras caught The Undisputed Era giving Roderick Strong a T-shirt outside the Performance Center. Strong gave it back to them and walked away.
Backstage: William Regal, Billie Kay, Peyton Royce

Christy St. Cloud asked Mr. William Regal how we were determining the fourth competitor in the fatal four-way at TakeOver. He tried to say it when The Iconic Duo came screeching into the scene.
Billie Kay said she should be in the qualifying match. Mr. Regal agreed, but he made a battle royal with every woman who hasn’t gotten a chance to qualify yet. Kay stormed away and Peyton Royce sarcastically thanked Regal.
Aleister Black defeated Raul Mendoza
Mendoza cut an awesome heel promo a month ago and has not been allowed to cut a promo since. His punishment for his one great promo has been facing Kassius Ohno and now Aleister Black.
Velveteen Dream ran down before the bell and put on Black’s vest. Black gave him the stare of death, which gave Mendoza the opening to go crazy at the bell. Mendoza used every move in his arsenal in the first minute of the match, trying to catch Black off guard and pick up the surprising win.
Unfortunately, the match went longer than a minute. Black caught a kick and proceeded to rename his punching bag “Raul Mendoza.” Black took Mendoza’s head off with Black Mass for the win.
Black refused to acknowledge Velveteen Dream until Dream had walked away and instead chose to give a hard stare to the camera.
Segment: Drew McIntyre and Zelina Vega
St. Cloud sat down with NXT Champion Drew McIntyre about what’s been going on since he became champion. McIntyre said years ago he set the goal of being NXT Champion and set a series of small goals to eventually reach this point.
He spoke about the disappointment of being released in 2014 and said he couldn’t comprehend it. His parents and future wife were worried because he had never had a real job other than WWE. He told his then-girlfriend that things would be okay, however that day he was released the fire went out. He worked himself to the bone and built himself into something successful. He was finally able to return to WWE and now is the champion.
Zelina Vega walked in and said she was taking over for St. Cloud. Vega said McIntyre and Andrade “Cien” Almas have a lot of things in common. Vega said there is no threat bigger than Almas and asked why McIntyre has been avoiding him.
McIntyre asked if she’s been watching and said if he wanted a title shot, McIntyre will fight anyone at any time or place. McIntyre then told her that if talking to Regal wasn’t good enough for her — tell Almas to come ask McIntyre for a title shot himself.
Kassius Ohno defeated Cezar Bononi

Once upon a time, Bononi defeated Almas and he has been on television roughly three times in the ensuing six months. Bononi had zero offense in that famous match where he beat Almas, but winning then taught him all these offensive maneuvers for this match. It’s really quite amazing.
The crowd was dead for Bononi but would momentarily wake up while Ohno was on offense. Ohno ended up winning with the rolling elbow to the back of Bononi’s head.
SAnitY and The Undisputed Era went to a no contest
It was then time for the main event! This is a six-man tag two months in the making. Back at TakeOver: Brooklyn when SAnitY won the Tag Team titles, they were attacked by Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly. This has led to backstage and in-ring attacks by both sides, culminating here tonight.
SAnitY got the early advantage on O’Reilly, and I am not saying he’s skinny, but Killian Dain dwarfed him while Dain was holding him in the corner. Undisputed Era eventually got the heat on SAnitY. Adam Cole, Fish, and O’Reilly took turns knocking down and keeping down Eric Young as the match progressed.
O’Reilly lined Young up for a kick but decided to knock an annoying Alexander Wolfe off the apron instead. That ended up being his undoing as Young made a comeback and got the hot tag to Dain. Dain ran wild on Fish and O’Reilly, while Cole watched on in shock and terror. Cole tried to run away, but he was stopped by Young and Wolfe.
SAnitY took out Cole and were set to finish him off when The Authors of Pain returned and ran in to cause a no contest! Akam and Rezar took out Young, Dain, and Wolfe all by themselves. They laid out Dain with The Last Chapter and drove Young and Wolfe into one another with a Super Collider! The show ended with AOP holding the tag titles aloft.
