Kickoff Show
Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin vs. The Hype Bros
Another standard WWE tag match, other than Chad Gable, who hit a few cool suplexes and a moonsault. The Hype Bros went for their finisher, but Benjamin fought off Mojo, which annoyed Ryder. Benjamin and Gable then took out Mojo and hit their tag team finisher on Ryder for the win.
Winners: Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin (~10 minutes)
Kickoff panel is unbearable…

Hell in a Cell Match
The New Day (c) vs. The Usos
The New Day cut a brief promo in the ring before The Usos came out. Big E and Xavier Woods are wrestling, while Kofi is outside of the cell. Both teams grabbed some weapons from under the ring as the match started, including a kendo stick, chair and some chains. Early in the match, Big E hit a spear through the middle ropes onto one of the Usos onto the outside, which lead the crowd to chant “this is awesome” for some reason.
Xavier Woods nailed an Uso with Francesca the trombone and broke it in half. They then used a cowbell and a gong. The New Day then pinned one of the Usos in the corner of the cell, then pinned him there with four horizontal kendo sticks, trapping him. He escaped about a minute later though…
Double top rope splash onto Big E, but he kicked out. Xavier was handcuffed then hung onto the ring post and the Usos nailed him with kendo sticks a bunch of times. Big E got angry and took out both Usos, then nailed a Big Ending on Jimmy, but he kicked out. The Usos fought back with superkicks though and hit another double top rope splash, but Xavier Woods broke it up, with his hands still handcuffed together with really wide handcuffs. The Usos took him out with kendo sticks though, and hit him with a double top rope splash, with a chair on top of Xavier. 1-2-3.
Winners and New WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions: The Usos (~22 minutes)
Randy Orton vs. Rusev
Incredibly uneventful and slow match for like the first 8 minutes. Rusev controlled most of the match until Orton tried to hit an RKO, but Rusev blocked it. Rusev hit a super kick then prepared to lock on the Accolade, but Orton rolled out of the ring. Back in the ring, Orton hit his DDT, then prepared for the RKO, but Rusev tried to lock on the Accolade out of nowhere… Orton broke free and hit the RKO for the win. Pretty bad / basic match.
Winner: Randy Orton (~12 minutes)
They aired a KFC commercial with Heath Slater dressed as a chicken and Kurt Angle dressed as Colonel Sanders…
WWE United States Championship
AJ Styles (c) vs. Baron Corbin vs. Tye Dillinger
After about 10 minutes, Dillinger went for the Tye Breaker on Styles, but Styles reversed it into a Styles Clash attempt, but Dillinger broke free. Styles locked on a submission but Corbin broke it up. Phenomenal forearm on the outside onto Corbin. Later on, Corbin hit a Deep Six onto Dillinger, then a chokeslam backbreaker onto Styles.
Later, Styles hit a cool springboard 450 onto Corbin, but Dillinger broke up the pinfall. Dillinger went for a Tye Breaker, but Styles broke it up and hit the Phenomenal forearm. Corbin booted Styles out of the ring and went for the pin on Dillinger and picked up the win. Really slow start, but not a bad match.
Winner and New WWE United States Champion: Baron Corbin (~19 minutes)
WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Natalya (c) vs. Charlotte Flair
Natalya worked on Charlotte’s knee and stuff. After like 10 minutes, she locked on a Sharpshooter, but Charlotte broke free. Charlotte then hit a top rope moonsault onto Natalya on the outside. Natalya then grabbed a steel chair and attacked Charlotte’s knee and the ref called a DQ… smh.
Winner by Disqualification: Charlotte Flair (~12 minutes)
Natalya hit Charlotte with the chair a few more times, then posed over her while holding the title.
Fashion Files: Back 2 Basics
Breezango said they just closed the case of “2B.” The Ascension appeared in disguise (fake mustaches) with a delivery for Breezango, and handed them a tube, with an Ascension poster inside that said “We want 2B your friends.” Breezango said that they hate the Ascension, which hurt the Ascension’s feelings. They revealed that they were the delivery guys and left. There was a knock on the door, and a briefcase was left on the floor. Breezango opened it up and a glowing yellow light was emitted. They said it wasn’t just a briefcase, it was a new case. “Pulp Fashion” (Pulp Fiction parody) this Tuesday on SmackDown.
WWE Championship
Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
God this match sucks… nothing happening… like 6 minutes into it…
After Jinder dominated the match with rest holds and stuff for the first 8 minutes, Nakamura started to fight back with a few kicks. On the outside, the Singh Brothers tried to get involved, but Nakamura easily took them out. Nakamura then landed wrong on his leg and started selling a knee injury. Mahal went for the Khallas, but Nakamura broke and hit some more kicks. He prepared for the Kinshasa, but the Singh Brothers pulled Jinder out. The Singh Brothers got up on the apron and distracted the referee, who ejected them from the match.
In the ring, Nakamura hit the Kinshasa, but Jinder grabbed the bottom rope to break up the pinfall. Mahal went for the Khallas, but Nakamura broke free and went for the Kinshasa, but missed and hit his knee into the corner. Mahal hit the Khallas for the win. The match picked up steam at the end after a horrible start.
Winner: Jinder Mahal (~12 minutes)
Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler’s theme hit, then abruptly stopped and he came out with no music or titantron video.
Rest holds, punches, kicks. Rest holds…
After like 10 minutes of nothing, Ziggler went for the Zig Zag, but Roode broke it up… Another sleeper hold… God…
Ziggler set up for the superkick, but Roode hit him with a spinebuster, and went for the Glorious DDT, but Ziggler broke free. They then took turns rolling through and grabbing the tights, leading to Roode eventually getting the win. This PPV has been so shitty.
Winner: Bobby Roode (~11 minutes)
After the match, Ziggler hit a Zig Zag on Roode.
Hell in a Cell Match – Falls Count Anywhere
Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens
Owens controlled most of the match for the first few minutes. Shane was really red and sweaty again. Owens went for a top rope senton, but Shane got his knees up, then hit his flurry of punches and a DDT. Shane went for a Shooting Star Press off the top, but Owens moved. Frog splash by Oewns, but Shane kicked out.
Later, Owens hit a powerbomb on Shane on top of the steel steps. Owens grabbed a table and set it up against the cell, then placed Shane on it. Owens got up on the apron and dived down but Shane moved and Owens slammed back first through the table. Shane then set Owens up in the corner, then put a trash can on his face, then nailed him with the Van Terminator.
Shane then grabbed bolt cutters and cut the chains off the cell door, after struggling to cut them for like 30 seconds. They fought outside the cage for a while, until Owens cleared one of the announce tables and placed Shane on top of it. He stood up on the crowd barricade to jump down onto Shane, then looked up at the cage and changed his mind.
Owens climbed up the cell… and looked down at Shane. Owens hesitated, then walked back around the top of the cage. Shane then got up and started to climb up the cell. Owens punched him as he hung on near the top. Shane made it up and they stood and faced off on top of the cage. They exchanged punches, then Shane hit a Russian leg sweep, body slam and vertical suplex on Owens on top of the cell. Pop up powerbomb by Owens onto Shane on the top of the cage… damn.
Owens grabbed Shane to throw him off the cell, but Shane ducked down and escaped. Owens knocked down Shane, then gave up and started climbing back down the cell. Shane followed him and they climbed down together, kicking and punching each other on the way down. Shane then slammed Owens’ face off the cell and he fell down through the table from about half way up the cell… The bump kinda fell flat after the big build up on top of the cell.
Shane then cleared off the other announce cable and put Owens on top of it. Shane started to climb up the cell again… He reached the top and did the sign of the cross… He jumped off for an elbow drop… but SAMI ZAYN suddenly pulled Kevin Owens off the table, and Shane McMahon crashed through the table off the top of the cell. Damn. Looked cooler than the last time he did it, I think.
“EMTs” and officials checked on Shane McMahon and were going to stretcher him out, but Sami Zayn grabbed Owens and put him on top of Shane, then grabbed the referee and told him to count. The ref was confused, but counted the fall. 1, 2, 3, Owens won.
Winner: Kevin Owens (~39 minutes)
Sami Zayn stared at what just happened as medical staff checked on Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens. Glad they’re doing something interesting with Zayn. That was a really good match and good finish to an otherwise mostly bad PPV (other than the other HIAC match).
