More Matches Added to the Cards of ROH’s Global Wars Events
Ring of Honor recently added several more matches to the cards of next week’s Global Wars shows. Besides more matches, ROH also announced Darryl Takahashi, the stuffed pet cat of Hiromu Takahashi, will make an appearance at all four Global Wars shows next week.
The newly added matches are:
* October 13th show – ROH Tag Team Championship match featuring Young Bucks versus Vinny Marseglia & TK O’Ryan versus champions Motor City Machine Guns. Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian versus Trent Baretta & Chucky T. ROH TV Championship #1 Contender’s match featuring Punishment Martinez versus Adam Page versus Josh Woods versus Matt Taven versus Kushida versus champion Kenny King. If Kenny King fails to win the #1 contenders match, he will face the winner for the ROH TV Championship later in the night.
* October 14th show – Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian versus Jonathan Gresham & Jay White.
October 15th show – Flip Gordon versus Will Ospreay. Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian versus KUSHIDA & Cheeseburger. Toru Yano versus Colt Cabana.
WWE Network News & Notes
WWE announced next week’s episode of Flashback Friday on the WWE Network will be Friday the 13th themed. The set will have eight episodes and includes several Smackdown episodes which took place on a Friday the 13th along with a classic episode of World Class Championship Wrestling from October 13th, 1984.
As previously reported, WWE’s plans to add WCW Thunder and WWF Sunday Night Heat to the WWE Network are currently on hold due to an on-going royalties lawsuit from Buff Bagwell and Raven. As a result, PWInsider reported WWE will add more classic episodes from World Class Championship Wrestling and episodes from the Seasonal Era of NXT to the WWE Network instead.
Impact Wrestling News & Notes
Anthem Entertainment’s wrestling division, Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, recently filed a new trademark for the term “Impact Grand Champion” for Impact Wrestling.
Anthem is currently considering plans for Impact Wrestling to start touring soon in the United States and Canada although only for major markets, according to the Wrestling Observer. The idea being to tape several weeks of new episodes for Impact Wrestling at different locations but many within the company are currently skeptical the tours will include the US due to cost reasons. The company is also expected to face problems with tickets sales which will limit the locations possible in each major city.
Impact Wrestling is currently planning on inducting a new member into their Hall of Fame at next month’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view event, according to the Wrestling Observer. Dave Meltzer reported while earlier rumors pointed to James Storm as this year’s inductee, Impact Wrestling will be inducting someone else instead.
