Various News: Next WWE Indie Signing, Brian Pillman, Young Bucks / Suck It

Next WWE Indie Signing

WWE is expected to soon sign indie wrestler Fred Yehi, who is currently signed to EVOLVE, according to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Yehi wrestled in a Cruiserweight Classic qualifying match in 2016, losing to TJP.

The Young Bucks

Dave Meltzer also says that The Young Bucks are going to stop using “suck it” on their merchandise, though WWE hasn’t specifically threatened them about that (yet). All “suck it” merchandise has been removed from their ProWrestlingTees store.

Brian Pillman

Yesterday, October 5, was the 20th “anniversary” of the death of Brian Pillman, who died of a heart attack due to arteriosclerotic heart disease.

Dave Meltzer appeared on Talk Is Jericho to talk about the life of Pillman.

PILLMAN – 20 YEARS LATER

It’s been 20 years since Brian Pillman’s tragic passing, and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer joins TIJ to share some stories and memories. Dave started covering Brian’s wrestling career from his early days in Calgary with Stampede Wrestling. The two became very close friends, and now Dave Meltzer is providing some insight about Brian’s Loose Cannon gimmick, how Brian was able to get Eric Bischoff and WCW to release him from his contract so that he could pull a swerve and sign with Vince McMahon and WWE, Brian’s Hollywood Blondes tag team with Steve Austin, and the one big goal that drove Brian’s career choices. And Dave remembers the last days leading up to Brian’s tragic death. Plus, Sisi & Chey return to give their personal review of the new movie, “It.”

There will also be a book on the life of Pillman coming out later this month, titled “Crazy Like A Fox – The Definitive Chronicle of Brian Pillman 20 Years Later”

At the end of October, Crazy Like A Fox – The Definitive Chronicle of Brian Pillman 20 Years Later will be available on Amazon and other online retailers. The book offers the most in-depth analysis of Brian’s personal and professional life ever compiled, with unheard details of his football and wrestling careers complimented by exclusive interviews with close friends and colleagues, such as:
