Dolph Ziggler responded to criticism of the Raw/SmackDown invasion angle, with people questioning why he would work side by side with Bobby Roode, who he was feuding with on SmackDown.
PWTorch’s Wade Keller, who got into it with Ziggler on Twitter, also wrote an article about the logic issues and “glaring flaws” with the invasion angle.

Smackdown was a unit sending a message. Somehow every week we all wait until we're in the ring, the music hits and bell rings to fight. Why wouldn't this apply here? I didn't high five or even talk to my sd opponent, nor have I been seeking him out backstage to jump him

I have nothing against shane. I called out the fans for liking wrestlers that are smoke & mirrors. So, it was fun to bust up a show built on masks, fire, smoke & facepaint & chest protectors. Sorry that YOU didn't see that.

It definitely did seem weird to me to have all of the SmackDown faces acting like heels just for the sake of tribal mob violence. Seeing the New Day lead a giant 30 on 2 jumping of Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews backstage was pretty weird…
