On last night’s episode of Bring It to the Table on WWE Network, JBL and Corey Graves had some interesting things to say about Enzo Amore.
There was a recent story that Enzo Amore has a lot of backstage heat on him and was recently kicked off of a WWE tour bus by Roman Reigns after a lot of people on the bus became upset with him for an unknown reason.
On Bring It to the Table, they brought up the “thrown off the bus” story and JBL made some possibly ominous statements, saying that when the locker room turns on you like that, in the past, most people “never made it” and “the odds right now are completely against Enzo.”
Corey Graves also chimed in, saying he thinks Enzo would be better suited on 205 Live. Graves also explained that Enzo “rubs a lot of people the wrong way” because he is basically the same person off camera as on camera, 24/7. But he mentioned that Enzo is very popular, does good numbers on Raw, and sells a lot of merchandise, which is likely legitimately why WWE keeps him around despite him seemingly having a lot of heat.
One thing that is pretty troubling for Enzo is that “Bring It to the Table” is often seen as WWE management making their feelings known through a proxy like JBL, so it seems like they were “sending him a message.” JBL famously ranted about how much he hates Mauro Ranallo on the show, which lead to that whole debacle, with lots of people feeling like WWE was “sending a message” to Mauro.
Here are the transcripts of their comments:
JBL:
“There’s been a history of this. We used to have wrestler’s court to mediate conflicts between guys. Undertaker was the judge, I was the prosecuting attorney, either Godfather or Kane was the bailiff. But sometimes you circumvented court completely and just thew them out of the locker room or threw them off buses. Miz was one of those, which by the way, I didnt… not me. Given credit for it because of storyline reasons. But we also had ring announcers, we’ve had commentators, we’ve had talent thrown out of locker rooms in the past.
“Now, here’s what’s bad about it. Most of those guys – except for Miz… Miz is the only one – never made it. Once the locker room turned against these guys, for whatever reason, they’re sprayed with human repellent or whatever, they never made it. So the odds right now are completely against Enzo. Now, I think he’s very talented, I’ve had a good working relationship with him, but apparently there’s a lot of problems with him and the rest of the world.”
Corey Graves:
“Truth be told, I can’t believe I’m the one saying this… I want Enzo on the team. The guy has a ton of faults, on screen and off screen. The guy you see on Monday Night Raw is the guy you will meet on Wednesday afternoon walking down the street. Enzo is Enzo 24 hours a day, which rubs a lot of people the wrong way. […] If you’re on a European tour 12 days deep and he’s going on and on and on about how he partied on the weekend in LA, you’re gonna get tired of hearing about it. There’s a limit, and when you’re on the road that much, a guy like that will wear on your nerves. That said, I genuinely hope Enzo figures out what it is, gets back in the good graces of everybody, because I think Enzo is a valuable addition to the roster.
“If it were up to me, I want Enzo Amore on 205 Live. Enzo, like him or not, is talented. He is entertaining, he does good numbers for his segments on Raw, he sells lots of merchandise, he’s very popular. I want him on the team. I’m willing to deal with him a little bit, but I think 205 Live could be Enzo’s new home.”
