At the NXT Performance Center, an annoyed Billie Kay and Peytron Royce were interviewed. Peyton said that they feel disrespected because it was recently Billie’s birthday and Peyton was the only one to get her a gift. Billie was really annoyed that there was no confetti for her and no cake.
In the background, a woman (Thea Trinidad) was yelling at Andrade Cien Almas, then she stormed off. Cien was asked who she was and he said she was “loca.”
NXT Championship
Bobby Roode (c) vs. Roderick Strong
Roderick Strong’s mother and fiancee were at ringside. After about 15-20 minutes, Roode hit a Glorious DDT, but Strong kicked out. Roode was shocked and “dilly-dallied” around for a while, allowing Strong to get up and hit a series of moves with a burst of energy. He nailed Roode with a sweet suplex-backbreaker, suplexing Roode and having him land on Strong’s knees. The referee counted to three and the bell rang. Strong hugged his fiancee at ringside. The announcer started to announce Strong as the new champion, but the referee stopped him and said that Roode’s foot was hanging outside the ring, so the pinfall was waived off.
Amid all the commotion, Roode attacked Strong and he fell off the apron and seemed to hurt his knee. Roode then hit a Glorious DDT on Strong on the outside in front of Strong’s family, then Roode taunted them. He rolled Strong into the ring and hit another Glorious DDT for the win.
Winner: Bobby Roode
