New Match Rumor for SummerSlam
As previously reported, WWE was rumored to be considering the idea of a multi-women’s match for RAW’s Women’s Championship at next month’s SummerSlam event.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reports those plans have changed with the WWE now leaning more towards a singles match for the title. At the moment, the match would feature champion Alexa Bliss and her opponent to be named as early as next week’s RAW.
WWE Did You Know – Kevin Owens & Universal Championship
In a “WWE Did You Know” type fact, there have been 46 matches for the Universal Championship since its debut last August for RAW. Kevin Owens has had the most matches for the title at 43 matches while Brock Lesnar is currently second all-time with two matches.
Of the 46 matches, only one didn’t feature either Owens or Lesnar which was Finn Balor versus Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2016. This match crowned the inaugural champion for the title.
