As reported earlier, Matt and Reby Hardy recently lashed out against Jeff Jarrett on Twitter in regards to claims made by Jarrett during today’s media call about no agreement being in place for the “Broken” gimmick.
A report by PWInsider stated that Matt and Reby Hardy were correct about a deal being in place for the gimmick, with both sides agreeing on terms in principle for a deal that had Billy Corgan acting as the mediator during negotiations. WWE was not involved in this deal likely due to them still not wanting to be involved in the on-going legal mess.
According to terms of the deal, both sides were to release public statements wishing each other well and end the public feud. The Hardys would have gotten rights to use the “Broken” gimmick in WWE and Anthem Media likely would have gotten money back in return.
After a deal was agreed upon, the Hardys’s lawyers sent the official paperwork to be signed-off on by Anthem Media’s Ed Nordholm, but for whatever reason, weeks have gone by and he has not yet signed, nor has he communicated with the Hardys or given them any indication that he would be signing. Word is that he feels that the draft he was sent is not what they originally agreed on, but he has not reached out to the Hardys about it.
PWInsider’s sources also believe unless Nordholm signs the deal soon, a lawsuit by the Hardys will likely be filed against Anthem and Impact/GFW.
