In a recent Facebook Live chat, Jon Jones was asked if he would fight Brock Lesnar and he said:
“He’s a massive dude. It would be a massive draw, really big for the sport. It would be a great challenge. That’s a big old boy. I doubt Brock Lesnar would take that fight, though. I definitely wouldn’t try to wrestle with him the whole time. I’m not going to tell you what I would do.”
The Associated Press asked Lesnar if he would actually “take that fight” and he responded:
“Would I fight Jon Jones? Anytime, anywhere. Right now he should be worried about D.C. on Saturday night.”
Jon Jones is fighting Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 this Saturday.
There was word last week that Brock Lesnar was going to re-enter the USADA testing pool, signaling a possible return to UFC. His WWE contract expires after WrestleMania and as of now, he’s told WWE that he doesn’t plan on returning, but he said that last time, so it could be a negotiation tactic.
Lesnar still has 5 months remaining in his USADA suspension, and wrestlers who return from retirement would need to be in the pool for 6 months, so if he re-enters now, the earliest he would be able to return is January. WWE would need to approve any UFC fights while he’s under contract, if he decides that he wants to fight before his contract expires next April.
