Daniel Bryan congratulated Cody Rhodes on becoming the Ring of Honor World Champion on Friday, then said that he “may have to come after [him]” if he’s still the champion on September 28, 2018. That date is most likely when Bryan’s WWE contract expires. Like has been mentioned recently, Daniel Bryan has said that he’s “working on” returning to the ring and if he does want to wrestle, it most likely would not be in WWE, since their doctors have been very cautious with him and haven’t cleared him and seemingly never will.
Congratulations! Being @ringofhonor champ for 462 days transformed me as a wrestler and was one of the best times in my career. Enjoy it! https://t.co/alSLGCeNcX

Side note, if you hold the @ringofhonor title 462 days I may have to come after you, which would be 9/28/18. Be forewarned! #FinalCountdown https://t.co/alSLGCeNcX

Cody Rhodes also ended up with a busted lip in his title-winning match against Christopher Daniels and needed six stitches.
